A University in Turmoil
Part 2
Dean Kai's eyes blazed with fury as he took in the sight of Ray, battered and bruised, standing before him. "What happened here?" he demanded, his voice low and menacing. Tylil, the 24-year-old student, spoke up, "Dean Kai, it was just a misunderstanding. This guy-" he nodded towards the random guy "-showed up at our dorm, accusing Tota of ditching him. Things escalated, and then we ran into Ray and...and...well, you see what happened." Kai's gaze narrowed at Tylil. "And you, of course, had to jump into the fray and make things worse, didn't you?" His tone was accusatory, and Tylil's eyes widened in surprise. "Hey, that's not fair, Dean Kai," Tylil protested. "I'm just telling you what happened." The random guy, whose name was apparently Lucas, chimed in, "Yeah, Dean Kai, you're being really biased towards Ray here. What's going on?" Kai's face darkened. "I'm just trying to get to the bottom of things, Lucas. And I don't appreciate your tone." Tylil snorted. "Biased? You're practically taking Ray's side without even hearing our side of the story. That's not fair, Dean Kai." Kai's expression turned glacial. "I'm the dean of this university, and I won't be lectured by a couple of students. Now, let's focus on what happened here." As the argument continued, Kai's behavior became increasingly erratic. He seemed to be favoring Ray, and it was starting to get out of hand. Lucas raised an eyebrow. "Dean Kai, can I ask you something? Why are you being so... invested in this? You're practically... defending Ray like he's...your boyfriend or something." The room fell silent, and Kai's face went white. For a moment, he seemed to freeze, unsure of how to respond. Then, in a moment of unguarded passion, Kai blurted out, "Because he is! Ray is... mine. And I won't let anyone hurt him." The room erupted into chaos as Tylil and Lucas exchanged shocked glances. "What? Dean Kai, that's not okay!" Tylil exclaimed. Lucas added, "You're the dean of this university! You can't just... admit to having a relationship with a student! That's a huge conflict of interest!" The conversation quickly devolved into a heated argument about ethics, favoritism, and the boundaries between authority figures and students. As the debate raged on, Kai realized he had made a grave mistake. His secret was out, and he had no idea how to fix it. Meanwhile, Ray watched the exchange with a mix of horror and embarrassment. He had never meant for his relationship with Kai to be exposed, especially not like this. What was going to happen now?
