**A New Beginning**

Part 6

Noah slowly opened his eyes to find Jacquie standing in front of her dressing table, her back to him as she carefully applied her makeup. The morning sunlight streaming through the window highlighted her beautiful features, and Noah couldn't help but smile as he took in the sight. Her long, dark hair cascaded down her back like a waterfall, and her slender fingers moved deftly as she worked on her makeup. As he watched, Jacquie caught his eye in the mirror and flashed him a bright smile. "Good morning, handsome," she said, her voice husky from sleep. Noah chuckled and swung his legs over the side of the bed, rubbing the sleep from his eyes. "Good morning, beautiful," he replied, his voice filled with affection. Jacquie turned to face him, her eyes sparkling with mirth. "You're up early," she said, raising an eyebrow. Noah shrugged. "I couldn't sleep. I was thinking about our day ahead." Jacquie walked over to him, her heels clicking on the floor, and sat down beside him on the bed. "What did you have in mind?" she asked, her voice curious. Noah took her hand in his, his fingers intertwining with hers. "I was thinking we could explore the local area, get a feel for the place," he said. "Maybe take a walk in the woods, or visit the village." Jacquie's face lit up with excitement. "That sounds perfect," she said. "I've been dying to see the village." As they sat there, holding hands and making plans, Noah couldn't help but feel grateful for this new chapter in their lives. He glanced at the silver necklace Jacquie was wearing, the one Hamish had given her as a welcome gift. It sparkled in the morning light, and Noah smiled, remembering the kind old man's words: "Wear it with pride, and may it bring you good fortune in your new home." With a spring in their steps, they got dressed and headed downstairs to start their day. As they walked into the kitchen, they were greeted by the delicious aroma of freshly brewed coffee and baking. Noah's stomach growled in anticipation, and Jacquie laughed. "I think I'll make some pancakes," she said, her eyes sparkling with excitement. "We can take some with us on our walk." As they sat down to eat, Noah reached out and took Jacquie's hand, his eyes meeting hers. "I'm so glad we're doing this," he said, his voice filled with emotion. "I'm glad we're starting this new chapter in our lives together." Jacquie smiled, her eyes shining with happiness. "Me too," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. "Me too."
