"Whispers in Class"

Part 3

As Kenzy walked into her next class, English Literature, she spotted an empty seat near the back of the room. She made her way over, hoping to blend in and focus on the lesson. Just as she sat down, Levi slid into the seat beside her, a mischievous glint in his eye. "Hey, I saved you from having to sit alone," he whispered, his breath tickling her ear. Kenzy rolled her eyes, trying to hide a smile. The teacher, Mrs. Johnson, began to discuss the themes of a classic novel, and Kenzy tried to focus on the lesson. As Mrs. Johnson wrote on the board, Levi discreetly passed her a folded piece of paper. Kenzy unfolded it, expecting notes on the lesson, but instead found a list of jokes scribbled in messy handwriting. "What's this?" she whispered, trying to stifle a giggle. Levi grinned. "Just some of my favorites. I thought you could use a laugh." Kenzy scanned the list, her eyes widening as she read the jokes. They were clever and funny, and she found herself chuckling. But one joke in particular caught her eye: "You're really pretty when you smile." Kenzy's cheeks flushed as she looked up at Levi, who was watching her with a smirk on his face. She tried to play it cool, but her heart was racing. As the class progressed, Kenzy found herself glancing at Levi, who was now fully engaged in the lesson. She couldn't help but feel a flutter in her chest whenever he looked at her. Mrs. Johnson asked the class to analyze a passage from the novel, and Levi leaned in close to whisper his thoughts to Kenzy. Their heads bent together, their shoulders almost touching, as they worked through the passage. As they wrote their analysis, Kenzy couldn't help but steal glances at Levi, who was scribbling notes in his book. She felt a sense of excitement whenever their eyes met, and she couldn't help but wonder what other surprises the day might hold. As the lesson came to a close, Levi gathered his things and stood up. "Thanks for laughing with me," he whispered, his eyes sparkling with mischief. Kenzy smiled, feeling a sense of anticipation. "Anytime," she replied, her voice barely above a whisper. As they filed out of the classroom, Levi fell into step beside her. "So, what's your next class?" he asked, his eyes crinkling at the corners. Kenzy checked her schedule. "I have study hall next. How about you?" Levi grinned. "I'm free. Want to grab a snack with me?" Kenzy hesitated for a moment, unsure if she was ready to spend more time with Levi. But as she looked into his eyes, she felt a sense of excitement and trepidation. "Okay," she said finally. Levi grinned, and Kenzy's heart skipped a beat. "I'll meet you in the cafeteria," he said, and together they parted ways, each lost in their own thoughts about what the rest of the day might bring.
