**A Warning Unheeded**

Part 2

The Sakamaki brothers dispersed, each retreating to their own quarters, leaving Ayato to ponder the enigmatic new addition to their family. Yui, sensing the tension, busied herself with tidying up the foyer, her eyes occasionally drifting towards the stairs, where Mori had disappeared. Shinobu, now alone with his sons, cleared his throat, his expression stern. "I trust you've all met Mori, our new... guest. I expect you to treat her with the respect due to her position." He paused, his gaze lingering on each brother. "And, Ayato, I suggest you keep a close eye on her. I have a feeling she may prove to be more than just a mere plaything." With that, Shinobu turned and left the foyer, leaving the brothers to their own devices. The atmosphere in the mansion seemed to shift, growing heavier, as if the very air was charged with anticipation. Ayato couldn't shake the feeling that Mori's arrival was more than just a coincidence. He remembered her words, spoken in a low, husky tone: "My sister's name is Momento. In total, we complete the phrase: Momento Mori— remember you must die." A shiver ran down his spine as he recalled the intensity in her eyes. What did she mean? And what was the significance of the phrase? Ayato's thoughts were interrupted by the sound of footsteps, as Yui descended the stairs, Mori by her side. Mori's gaze met Ayato's, and for a moment, they simply stared at each other. He felt a jolt of unease, as if she could see right through him. Yui, sensing the tension, intervened, "Shall I prepare dinner, sir?" Ayato nodded, breaking the silence. "Yes, please, Yui." As Yui turned to head towards the kitchen, Mori fell into step beside her. Ayato watched them go, his mind still reeling from the cryptic warning. Suddenly, the sound of Mori's voice carried back to him, her tone icy and detached. "I will be waiting." Ayato's eyes narrowed, his heart beating just a little bit faster. He had a feeling that he was in for a lot more than he had bargained for.
