Toxic Jerky Terror
Part 3
The next morning, Harry woke up with a start, his eyes wild and unfocused. He was thrashing about in the back of the Shaggin' Wagon, his limbs flailing wildly as he let out a loud, incoherent scream. Lloyd, who had somehow managed to stay awake despite his earlier ordeal, watched in horror as Harry's behavior became increasingly erratic. "Harry, dude, calm down!" Lloyd tried to shout, but Harry just kept on thrashing about, his eyes rolling back in his head. Lloyd tried to grab Harry's arms to steady him, but Harry was too strong, and he managed to break free. Lloyd stumbled backward, tripping over his own feet as he desperately tried to get away from Harry's flailing body. As he struggled to regain his balance, Lloyd noticed that his own mouth was feeling weird, and he could feel a slow trickle of drool making its way down his chin. He looked down at his hands and saw that they were shaking uncontrollably. Panic set in as Lloyd realized that they were both in serious trouble. He fumbled through his pockets for his phone and managed to dial 911. "Hello, emergency services?" a calm voice said on the other end of the line. Lloyd tried to explain their situation, but all that came out was a jumbled mess of words. The operator on the other end assured him that help was on the way and asked for their location. A few minutes later, two emergency responders, paramedics Mark Nelson and Emily Chen, arrived on the scene. They rushed toward the Shaggin' Wagon, where Lloyd was still trying to hold Harry back. Mark and Emily quickly assessed the situation and sprang into action. Mark grabbed Harry's arms, trying to restrain him, while Emily knelt beside Lloyd, checking his vital signs. "Okay, buddy, we're here to help," Mark said calmly to Harry, who was still thrashing about. "Let's get you calmed down, okay?" Emily turned to Lloyd and gently wiped the drool from his chin. "Don't worry, we're going to get you both sorted out," she said reassuringly. As they worked to stabilize Harry and Lloyd, Mark radioed for backup, requesting that they bring in a stretcher and some medical equipment. "Whatever happened to these two, it's not good," Mark said to Emily, his voice low and concerned. "Let's get them to the hospital and figure out what's going on." With Mark and Emily's expert care, they managed to sedate Harry and stabilize Lloyd enough to load them into the ambulance. As they sped away from the scene, Lloyd could only wonder what had caused their terrifying ordeal with the toxic beef jerky.
