Harmony of Solitude

Part 80

As the days went by, Kageyama found himself growing more and more withdrawn, not because of the pressure of being on the team, but because of a newfound love - music. It started when Tanaka, in an effort to help him relax, had given him a pair of headphones and a playlist to listen to. At first, Kageyama had been skeptical, but as he listened to the soothing melodies and calming rhythms, he began to feel a sense of peace that he had never experienced before. He started to spend more and more time alone in his room, listening to music and letting the stresses of the day melt away. His teammates noticed the change in him, but they didn't pry, assuming that he was just finding ways to cope with the pressure of being on the team. Oikawa, however, was a different story. He would often walk into Kageyama's room, expecting to find him practicing or studying, only to find him lying on his bed, eyes closed, lost in the music. At first, Oikawa had been concerned, thinking that Kageyama was withdrawing from the team, but as he listened to the music himself, he began to understand. The music was like nothing Oikawa had ever heard before. It was as if it had been tailored specifically to Kageyama's soul, calming his nerves and soothing his worries. He started to leave Kageyama alone, letting him indulge in his newfound love, and even occasionally joining him, lying on his own bed, listening to the same melodies. Kageyama's room became a sanctuary, a place where he could escape the pressures of being a volleyball player and just be himself. He would spend hours listening to music, his mind wandering to places he had never been, his heart filled with emotions he had never felt. As the days turned into weeks, Kageyama's game began to improve, not because he was practicing more, but because he was finding a sense of calm and focus that he had never known before. His teammates noticed the change in him, and they began to talk about it among themselves. "I don't know what's going on with Kageyama," one of them said, "but he's playing like a different person." "I think it's that music of his," another one replied. "I've seen him listening to it all the time, and he seems really calm." The team began to realize that Kageyama's newfound love of music was not a distraction, but a strength, and they started to support him, even encouraging him to share his music with them. As Kageyama lay on his bed, listening to his favorite song, he felt a sense of happiness that he had never known before. He was no longer just a volleyball player, but a person with his own interests and passions, and he was grateful for it.
