Transformed
Part 6
As Lyra stood alone, trying to make sense of her new masculine appearance, she couldn't shake off the feeling that something was still off. The men who had transformed her earlier reappeared, their eyes scanning her new form. One of them nodded, but the others looked unconvinced. "I think she's still a bit too pretty," one of them said, his voice gruff. "We can't have her walking around like that." Lyra's eyes widened as the men moved closer, their hands weaving intricate patterns in the air. She felt a strange sensation wash over her again, and her body began to change once more. Her beard grew thicker and darker, covering her cheeks and chin. Her body hair sprouted, covering her arms and chest with a thick layer of coarse hair. Her feet grew bigger, her toes thickening and her heels becoming more pronounced. Her muscles bulged, her biceps and triceps growing larger and more defined. Lyra's hairline receded, her hair thinning and pulling back from her forehead. Her voice deepened, becoming lower and more masculine. She looked down at her hands and saw that they were larger, more rugged. As she gazed at her reflection in a nearby window, Lyra barely recognized the person staring back. She no longer felt like a woman in any way on the outside. Her curves were gone, replaced by sharp angles and rough textures. Her eyes, once bright and expressive, now seemed dull and masculine. The men nodded in approval, their eyes satisfied with the changes they had made. One of them stepped forward, his hands weaving a new pattern in the air. "This time, we make it permanent," he said, his voice low. "The effects won't wear off without serious spell work. You'll be able to move freely, without worrying about your disguise failing you." Lyra felt a shiver run down her spine as the man cast the spell. She knew that she was now fully committed to her new disguise, that she would have to find a way to reverse the effects if she wanted to return to her true form. The men nodded, their faces serious. "You'll be safe now," one of them said. "But be careful. The Umbra will stop at nothing to find you." Lyra nodded, her new voice rough and unfamiliar. She took a deep breath, trying to adjust to her new body. She knew that she had a long journey ahead of her, one that would require all her wits and cunning. But for now, she was ready to face whatever lay ahead, armed with her new disguise and a determination to take down The Umbra.
