Unspoken Concerns

Part 42

The next morning, I walked into the kitchen, where my parents were sipping their coffee and discussing something in hushed tones. As I approached, they turned to me, and I noticed a brief exchange of glances that made my hair stand on end. It was a fleeting moment, but it was enough to raise my suspicions. I felt a shiver run down my spine as I wondered what was going on. My parents' expressions quickly returned to normal, but the moment had already passed. I tried to brush it off, thinking I must have misread the situation. It wasn't possible that they would be judgmental or discriminatory towards Izuku, was it? I had always thought of them as good people, kind and understanding. As we sat down for breakfast, my mother brought up the topic of Izuku's Quirkless status. "Sweetie," she said, sounding uncertain. "Don't you want the doctor to visit you too?" I blinked, and my shoulders sagged in relief as I realized what was going on. They weren't being discriminatory; they were just worried that I might be Quirkless too. I shrugged, trying to appear nonchalant. "I don't really care," I said. "But why not, you can book an appointment next week." It made sense, after all. My Quirk, or lack thereof, would play a significant role in shaping my future. The sooner I knew the truth, the sooner I could start preparing. My parents exchanged a glance, and I could sense a mix of emotions behind their eyes. They were worried about me, about Izuku, and about the uncertainty that lay ahead. I pushed the thought aside and focused on the present. The doctor's appointment was set for Friday, but it turned out to be unnecessary. On Tuesday, during a routine training session with Katsuki, I stumbled upon the truth about my Quirk. As we were practicing our explosive kicks, I felt a strange sensation in my legs. It was as if my muscles were... shifting, adjusting to something. I stumbled, and Katsuki caught me by the arm. "Hey, what's wrong?" he asked, concern etched on his face. I looked down at my legs, and that's when I saw it. A soft, blue glow was emanating from my thighs, and I could feel a strange energy building up inside me. "My Quirk," I whispered, my eyes wide with wonder. Katsuki's expression changed from concern to surprise. "You've got a Quirk?" he asked, his voice laced with excitement. I nodded, still trying to process what was happening. As the glow grew brighter, I realized that my Quirk was... different. It wasn't like Izuku's, or Katsuki's, or anyone else's that I had seen. I felt a mix of emotions: excitement, curiosity, and a hint of fear. What did this mean for my future? Would I be able to control my Quirk? And what kind of implications would it have on my relationships with Izuku and Katsuki? As I stood there, frozen in wonder, I knew that my life was about to change in ways I couldn't even imagine.
