Chapter 58: The Hawk's Whisper

Part 57

As I leaned back in my chair, I couldn't help but think about Hawks and the mysterious conversation we had earlier. My friends were all chatting and laughing, but my mind was elsewhere. "Hey guys, I have an idea," I said, turning to my friends with a thoughtful expression. "Should I text Hawks?" The room fell silent, and all eyes turned to me. Mina's face lit up with excitement. "Yessss, but let us see what you text," she said, her eyes sparkling with mischief. Ochaco and Tsuyu exchanged a curious glance, and Bakugo raised an eyebrow. "What's going on, Vesper?" he asked, his voice skeptical. I hesitated for a moment, unsure of how to respond. But Mina's enthusiasm was infectious, and I found myself smiling. "I don't know, I just feel like there's something he wants to tell me, and I want to see if I can get more information out of him." Mina nodded eagerly, her eyes shining with excitement. "Okay, let's see what you come up with. But you have to show us the text first." I chuckled, feeling a sense of amusement. "Deal," I said, pulling out my phone. As I typed out a text to Hawks, my friends leaned in, their faces eager to see what I was writing. "What are you saying?" Ochaco asked, her voice barely above a whisper. I glanced up at her, a smile on my face. "Just asking him if he wants to talk more about... stuff," I said vaguely. Tsuyu raised an eyebrow. "Stuff?" I shrugged. "You'll see." As I finished typing out the text, I showed it to my friends. Mina let out a squeal of excitement, and Ochaco and Tsuyu leaned in to read the text over her shoulder. Bakugo grunted, his face unimpressed. "You're really going to get tangled up in this, aren't you?" he said, shaking his head. I rolled my eyes, feeling a sense of amusement. "Maybe," I said, hitting send on the text. We all waited in silence for a response, our eyes fixed on my phone. The seconds ticked by, and then my phone buzzed with an incoming text. Mina let out a squeal of excitement, and Ochaco and Tsuyu leaned in, their faces eager to see the response. I smiled, feeling a sense of anticipation. "Let's see what he says," I said, my eyes scanning the text. The room fell silent, all eyes fixed on my phone as I read out the response. "It says... 'Meet me at the usual place in an hour. Come alone.'" I said, my voice barely above a whisper. My friends all exchanged a curious glance, and Mina's eyes sparkled with excitement. "What's going on, Vesper?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper. I shrugged, feeling a sense of uncertainty. "I don't know, but I think I'm about to find out."
