Unexpected Connections

Part 4

Rage settled into his seat, his eyes shining with excitement as he turned to Sangwoo. "Hey, mind if we join you?" he asked, his voice charming and disarming. Sangwoo looked up from his drink, a hint of a smile playing on his lips. "Not at all," he replied, his voice low and smooth. Jason and Adapt exchanged a brief glance before Jason plopped down in the seat to Sangwoo's right, and Adapt took the seat beside him. As they sat down, Rage launched into a conversation, asking Sangwoo about his favorite water slides and what he thought of the park. Sangwoo responded easily, his eyes crinkling at the corners as he smiled. Every so often, his gaze would drift over to Jason's exposed chest, but it was a fleeting glance that went unnoticed by the others. Rage, however, was undeterred, continuing to flirt shamelessly with Sangwoo. To Adapt's surprise, Sangwoo seemed to be enjoying it, his responses growing more playful and teasing. The conversation flowed easily, and before long, they were all chatting like old friends. As they talked, Adapt couldn't shake the feeling that something was off about Sangwoo. He kept a close eye on him, his instincts on high alert. But Sangwoo seemed harmless enough, just a friendly stranger who had struck up a conversation. As the minutes ticked by, Sangwoo's right hand drifted under the table, his fingers brushing against Jason's thigh. Jason jumped slightly, his eyes widening in surprise, but he didn't say anything. He tried to subtly shift his position, but Sangwoo's hand remained firmly in place. Rage continued to chat with Sangwoo, oblivious to the subtle exchange. But Adapt noticed a shift in Sangwoo's demeanor, his responses becoming more targeted towards Jason. It was as if he had suddenly developed a new interest in the young Faze member. "So, Jason, what do you think of the new wave pool?" Sangwoo asked, his eyes locked on Jason's face. Jason responded easily, but Adapt's unease grew. He couldn't quite put his finger on it, but something about Sangwoo's behavior seemed off. As they continued to chat, Adapt found himself growing more and more on edge. He didn't like the way Sangwoo was looking at Jason, didn't like the way his hand seemed to be lingering on Jason's thigh. He made a mental note to keep a close eye on Sangwoo, to make sure that nothing out of the ordinary happened. But for now, he just smiled and nodded along, trying to blend in with the conversation.
