Descent into Madness

Part 5

The girl woke up to an empty bed, her husband gone, and a sense of unease settling in the pit of her stomach. She stretched, yawning, and swung her legs over the side of the bed, her feet dangling in the air. That's when she caught the smell. It was pungent, overwhelming, and seemed to come from the bathroom. She wrinkled her nose, her face scrunched up in distaste, and got out of bed. As she walked towards the bathroom, the smell grew stronger, making her stomach churn. She pushed open the door, and her eyes widened in horror. The toilet was piled high with shit, and feces smeared all over the seat, the lid, and even the walls. She gasped, her hand flying to her mouth, and a wave of revulsion washed over her. "John!" she cursed, her voice shaking with anger and disgust. "John, what have you done?" But as she stood there, frozen in shock, something inside of her snapped. She felt a strange, primal urge taking over, and before she knew it, she dropped to her knees in front of the toilet. She began to scoop up the feces with her hands, stuffing them into her mouth. The smell was still overwhelming, but she didn't seem to notice. She was too busy devouring the filth, her face twisted in a grotesque grimace. She didn't even notice her mother walking into the bathroom, didn't even flinch as her mother's eyes landed on her. Her mother, who had been out running errands, had come home to find her daughter kneeling in front of the toilet, eating shit. Her face turned white, her eyes wide with shock and disgust, as she slowly watched her daughter. The girl's mother stood frozen, unsure of what to do, as her daughter continued to eat, oblivious to her presence. The only sound was the girl's slurping and gagging, and the creaking of the old house settling around them. The girl's mother took a step back, her eyes fixed on her daughter's twisted face, and whispered a silent prayer, as if pleading for some kind of divine intervention to save her daughter from this abyss of madness. As the girl continued to eat, her mother's eyes began to water, tears streaming down her face as she realized that her daughter was gone, consumed by some dark and malevolent force that had taken hold of her. And she knew that she was powerless to stop it.
