**Chapter 14: Life-Changing News**
Part 14
The minutes ticked by at a glacial pace as Jacquie and Noah waited for the test results. Jacquie's mind was racing with thoughts of what could be wrong with her, and Noah's grip on her hand was the only thing that seemed to keep her grounded. Just as Jacquie was starting to feel like she was going to explode from anxiety, the nurse walked back into the room with a friendly smile on her face. "I have the test results right here," she said, holding up a chart. Dr. Lee followed close behind her, a kind expression on her face. "Well, Jacquie, it looks like we have some news to share," she said. The nurse set the chart down on the counter and turned to Jacquie and Noah. "Jacquie, you're pregnant," she said, her voice filled with a warm, gentle tone. Jacquie's eyes widened in shock, and she felt like she'd been punched in the gut all over again. She turned to Noah, her eyes searching his face for a reaction. Noah's eyes were wide with surprise, but as he looked at Jacquie, a slow smile spread across his face. "Wow," he whispered, his voice full of emotion. Jacquie felt like she was in a dream, like this couldn't be real. She was pregnant? How was that possible? She and Noah had been careful, always using protection... Dr. Lee stepped forward, a reassuring smile on her face. "Don't worry, Jacquie, we'll get through this together," she said. "Pregnancy can be a shock, especially if it's not planned. But we'll talk about all your options, and make sure you have all the support you need." Jacquie nodded, still feeling like she was in a daze. She looked at Noah, who was still smiling at her, his eyes shining with excitement. "Are you...are you okay with this?" Jacquie asked, her voice barely above a whisper. Noah nodded, his smile growing wider. "I'm more than okay with it," he said, pulling her into a gentle hug. "I'm going to be a dad." Jacquie felt a wave of emotion wash over her, and she hugged him back, tears of joy streaming down her face. She couldn't believe it. She was going to be a mom.
