**Chapter 3: Disaster Strikes**
Part 3
Just as Dorothy took her second step out of the kitchen, she suddenly felt a sharp pain in her lower back. She tried to ignore it, thinking it was just a minor strain, but the pain intensified. Before she knew it, her water broke, and she was caught off guard. Panic set in as she realized she was in labor. At first, Dorothy thought she was mistaken. She wasn't due for another few weeks, and she had been feeling fine all day. But as she felt the warm liquid trickle down her legs, she knew there was no denying it. She was going into labor, and she was completely unprepared. Dorothy tried to take a step back, but her legs wouldn't cooperate. The pain in her back was getting worse, and she could feel her body starting to betray her. She tried to hold on, but her legs gave way, and she started to collapse. Time seemed to slow down as she felt herself falling to the ground. She was aware of her surroundings, but her body was no longer responding. She was terrified and disoriented, unsure of what to do. All she could do was wait for the inevitable. As she hit the floor, Dorothy felt a wave of fear wash over her. She was scared, and she didn't know what was happening. She tried to cry out for Lucas, but her voice was caught in her throat. Just as she was about to lose control, she felt a pair of strong arms wrap around her, catching her in mid-air. She opened her eyes to find Lucas's concerned face staring back at her. His eyes were wide with worry, and his face was etched with concern. "Dorothy, what's happening?" he asked, his voice shaking slightly. Dorothy tried to respond, but her voice was barely a whisper. She was too shocked, too scared, and too much in pain. All she could do was look up at Lucas, her eyes pleading for help. Lucas seemed to understand, and he quickly took charge. He gently laid her down on the floor, trying to make her comfortable. Dorothy felt a wave of relief wash over her as she lay there, her back against the cool floor. As she looked up at Lucas, she saw the fear and uncertainty in his eyes. But she also saw something else - a deep love and concern for her. He was scared, but he was also determined to take care of her. For a moment, they just lay there, Lucas holding her, and Dorothy looking up at him. It was a moment of pure panic and intimacy, a moment that Dorothy would never forget. And then, Lucas spoke, his voice calm and reassuring. "I'm here, Dorothy. I've got you. Everything is going to be okay." Dorothy nodded, trying to believe him. She knew that she was in good hands with Lucas, and that together, they could face whatever was happening. But as she looked up at him, she couldn't help but wonder what the future held, and what was about to happen.
