Unveiling the Magical Legacy
Part 5
As my mother settled back into her chair, Ren suddenly spoke up, "Sooo mom," he said, trying to get her attention. My mother turned to him, a warm smile on her face. "Yes, Ren, sweetie?" she replied, her eyes sparkling with interest. Ren looked at her nervously, and slightly worried, I could sense his apprehension. "So, does this mean I can or have to learn magic?" he asked, his voice trembling slightly. My mother and I exchanged a glance, and I could see the excitement building up inside her. "Well, Ren," she began, "as a member of our family, you do have a magical lineage. However, it's not a requirement for you to learn magic. It's entirely up to you." She paused, studying Ren's face. "But if you're interested, I can certainly help you get started." Ren's eyes lit up at the prospect, and he turned to me, a hopeful look on his face. I smiled, feeling a sense of excitement for my little brother. Saphira, sensing Ren's enthusiasm, hopped onto his lap, and he began to stroke her scales gently. "And can Saphira stay as my familiar or something?" Ren asked, looking up at my mother with pleading eyes. My mother chuckled, and I could see the warmth in her expression. "Ah, I think that can be arranged," she said, smiling. "Saphira seems to have taken a liking to you, Ren. As your familiar, she'll be able to sense your emotions and help you with your magic, if you choose to pursue it." I watched as Ren's face lit up with excitement, and he began to hug Saphira tightly. My mother turned to me, a knowing look in her eyes. "It seems we have a new student on our hands," she said, smiling. As we sat there, surrounded by the quiet of the evening, I realized that this was just the beginning of a new chapter in our lives. A chapter filled with magic, wonder, and discovery. And I was excited to see what the future held for all of us. My father, who had been quiet for a while, suddenly spoke up, "You know, I think I need some time to process all of this. But I'm willing to learn, and I'm excited to see where this journey takes us." My mother nodded, and I could see the relief in her expression. As the evening drew to a close, my mother stood up, and began to clear the table. "I think it's time for us to get some rest. We have a lot to discuss and plan for in the coming days." I nodded, feeling a sense of excitement and anticipation for what the future held. As we began to head towards our rooms, Ren turned to me, a mischievous glint in his eye. "Hey, Josh, can I ask you something?" he said, his voice low. I smiled, and nodded. "Sure, Ren. What's up?" Ren looked at me, a serious expression on his face. "Do you think I could learn how to fly on a broomstick?" he asked, his eyes sparkling with excitement. I chuckled, and shook my head. "We'll see, little bro. We'll see."
