A Moon in Mourning

Part 10

Days went by, and Luna was still deep in depression. Her crying spells and screaming for Earth were happening every other night, and Sol and the planets were worried sick and didn’t want her to get worse, so they tried their best to cheer up Luna, while they doubted it could work. Sol, being the optimistic star that she was, decided to take matters into her own hands. She summoned all the planets to her chambers for an emergency meeting to discuss Luna's situation. As the planets gathered around Sol, they could see the concern etched on her face. "We need to do something to help Luna," Sol said, her energy pulsating with urgency. "She's not getting better, and I'm worried that if we don't act soon, she might get worse." The planets all nodded in agreement, but they were at a loss for what to do. Mercury spoke up, "I've tried talking to her, but she just pushes me away." Venus added, "I've sent her bouquets of flowers, but she just throws them away." Jupiter suggested, "Maybe we should try something more...unconventional?" Saturn chimed in, "I've heard that music has healing properties. Maybe we could create a symphony in Earth's honor?" Uranus and Neptune exchanged a skeptical glance, but Sol's enthusiasm was infectious. Sol exclaimed, "That's a wonderful idea, Saturn! Let's do it!" And so, the planets set to work, each one contributing their unique talents to create a celestial symphony. Mercury played the drums, his rapid-fire beats echoing through the solar system. Venus sang a haunting melody, her voice soaring and dipping like a comet's tail. Jupiter provided the bass, his massive storms creating a low rumble that vibrated through the cosmos. As the symphony began, Luna was initially resistant. She hid behind a cloud of darkness, refusing to listen. But as the music washed over her, she began to feel a stirring. The notes and chords seemed to echo her own sorrow, and she felt a pang of recognition. She peeked out from behind her cloud, and as she saw the planets gathered together, playing for her, she felt a tiny spark of hope. The symphony swelled, and Luna's heart began to open. She listened, entranced, as the music wove a spell of comfort and solace around her. For the first time in weeks, she felt a sense of peace, a sense that she was not alone in her grief. As the final notes faded away, Luna emerged from her cloud, her eyes shining with tears. The planets all cheered, relieved that their plan had worked, if only for a moment. Sol smiled, her energy warm with approval. "We did it, everyone. We reached her." But as they looked at Luna, they knew that this was just the beginning. She still had a long way to go, and they would have to be there to support her every step of the way.
