Chapter 1: A Sudden Shift in Reality

Part 1

Y/n's eyes fluttered open, and she found herself in an unfamiliar place. The last thing she remembered was walking home from the library on a crisp autumn evening. Now, she was lying on a bed in a dormitory, surrounded by sleek, modern furnishings and gleaming white walls. A faint hum of machinery and the distant chatter of students filled the air. Confused and disoriented, Y/n sat up and looked around. A neatly dressed girl with short, curly brown hair and bright hazel eyes approached her. "Welcome to Ashford Academy! I'm Emilia, your dorm mate. I'm so glad you're finally awake. You were supposed to arrive yesterday, but... well, you overslept." Emilia smiled warmly. Y/n rubbed her temples, trying to clear the fog from her mind. "Ashford Academy? I... I don't remember coming here. Where is here?" Emilia chuckled. "You're in Japan, of course! Ashford Academy is one of the most prestigious schools in the country. I'm a second-year student. And you are...?" Panic set in as Y/n scrambled to think of an explanation. She had no idea how she got here or how to get back home. Her mind racing, she decided to play along. "I'm... Y/n. I'm a transfer student from... America." Emilia's eyes widened. "America? That's so cool! I'll show you around the school and introduce you to our friends. We're having a welcome party tonight, and you won't want to miss it." As Emilia helped Y/n get dressed and ready for the day, Y/n's thoughts swirled with questions. How did she end up in this world? Was this some kind of dream or parallel universe? And what was this place, Ashford Academy? During lunch, Emilia introduced Y/n to their classmates, including a few students who seemed particularly popular. There was a tall, blonde boy with piercing blue eyes and an air of confidence that commanded attention. Y/n couldn't help but notice the way he effortlessly charmed his peers. "That's Prince Clovis," Emilia whispered. "He's from the royal family and a bit of a playboy. Be careful around him; he's got a reputation." As Y/n observed Prince Clovis, her gaze drifted to a boy sitting at a nearby table, his eyes fixed intently on a book. His unruly black hair and sharp features made him look like a dark, brooding artist. He seemed lost in thought, oblivious to the commotion around him. "Who's that?" Y/n asked, her curiosity piqued. Emilia followed her gaze. "That's Lelouch. He's a bit of a mystery, but really smart. Always keeps to himself, though." Y/n felt an inexplicable jolt in her chest as she watched Lelouch. There was something about him that drew her in, something that made her want to know more. As the day went on, Y/n tried to adjust to her new surroundings, all while secretly observing Lelouch from afar. She couldn't help but wonder what secrets he might be hiding, and why she felt an unexpected connection to him. Little did she know, her life was about to take a dramatic turn, one that would entangle her with Lelouch and the complex world of Code Geass.
