"Crossroads of Complicated Emotions"
Part 208
Mina's sudden burst into the scene was a blur of motion, her bright orange hair a stark contrast to the tension that had been building between Hawks and me. Before I could react, she had run straight toward me, her eyes shining with a determined glint. "I told you, people like you..." she exclaimed, her voice barely above a whisper, but filled with conviction. In a flash, she had wrapped her arms around me, hugging me tightly. I felt a surge of surprise, my heart racing as I tried to process what was happening. "So, who are you going to pick?" Mina asked, her voice muffled against my shoulder. I felt a flush rise to my cheeks as I glanced around at the assembled group. Bakugo's eyes were narrowed, his expression skeptical. Deku looked concerned, his brow furrowed in worry. Shinso's eyes seemed to gleam with curiosity, while Todoroki's expression was neutral, his eyes fixed on me with interest. Kaminari, ever the goofball, was grinning at me, his eyes sparkling with amusement. Kirishima, on the other hand, looked like he was about to burst into a enthusiastic cheer. Shindo's eyes were fixed on Hawks, his expression still tense. And then there was Hawks, his eyes locked on me with an unnerving intensity. Aizawa Sensei stood beside him, his expression stern, as if daring me to make a wrong move. The pressure was palpable, the weight of everyone's expectations bearing down on me. I felt like I was standing at a crossroads, with multiple paths stretching out before me, each one leading to a different destination. As I stood there, frozen in indecision, Mina's grip on me tightened, her voice whispering in my ear. "Whoever you choose, I'll support you. But you have to make a choice, Vesper. You can't just stand there, frozen in uncertainty." The words sent a shiver down my spine, my heart racing with anticipation. Who would I choose? The question hung in the air, a challenge that I couldn't ignore.
