Chapter 18: A Glimpse of Vanitas' World
Part 17
As the portal dissipated, Shizuo's eyes widened in shock as he took in his surroundings. He looked up and saw a huge, expensive, and fancy mansion looming above him. The grandeur of the mansion was overwhelming, and Shizuo felt a wave of fear wash over him. He was finally in this crazy man's world, and he had no idea what to expect. Vanitas, still excited and energetic, dragged Shizuo into the mansion. "We finally here, my pretty wife," he said, his voice ringing with enthusiasm. Shizuo felt a shiver run down his spine as Vanitas' grip on his arm tightened. As they entered the mansion, Shizuo's eyes scanned the opulent decor, taking in the lavish furnishings and artwork. He felt like a fish out of water, and his fear began to escalate. Vanitas, oblivious to Shizuo's distress, continued to excitedly show him around. "I'm about to get the chefs to make up some delicious food, and then later on, we're going to my room... or do you want to look at the pools first? Or movie room?" he asked, his eyes sparkling with excitement. Shizuo quickly spoke up, trying to avoid the bedroom. "Can I see the pool, please, Vanitas, after dinner?" he asked, hoping that Vanitas would agree. Vanitas' face lit up with a happy smile. "Yes, wife, we can see the pools," he said, his voice dripping with affection. As Vanitas led Shizuo into the mansion, he quickly pulled out his phone and began to text his staff. "Buy my wife a few more bouquets of flowers, I want her to feel welcome," he typed, a smile still plastered on his face. Shizuo watched, feeling a mix of emotions: fear, anxiety, and confusion. He had no idea what he had gotten himself into, and he couldn't shake the feeling that he was trapped in this strange and unfamiliar world. As they walked further into the mansion, Shizuo couldn't help but wonder what lay ahead, and how he could possibly escape from Vanitas' clutches.
