Confrontation in the Courtyard
Part 14
I shot back, my voice steady, "Bakugo, shut up, you know you're just jealous." The words had barely left my lips when Bakugo's expression darkened, his eyes flashing with anger. He took a step closer to me, his fists clenched at his sides. The group around us fell silent, sensing the tension building between us. Kirishima and Deku exchanged a nervous glance, their faces etched with concern. Mina and the others seemed to be holding their breath, waiting to see what would happen next. Bakugo's face was inches from mine, his hot breath washing over me. "What did you say to me, shadow bitch!" he yelled, his voice echoing through the courtyard. I took a step back, startled by the ferocity of his outburst. Just as it seemed like things were about to escalate, Kaminari placed a hand on Bakugo's shoulder. "Hey, calm down, Kacchan," he said, his voice soothing. Bakugo's chest heaved with anger, but he seemed to be struggling to compose himself. I stood my ground, my heart racing from the sudden confrontation. "I didn't say anything I didn't mean," I said, my voice firm. Bakugo's eyes narrowed, his gaze boring into mine. For a moment, it seemed like he might lunge at me, but Kaminari's grip on his shoulder tightened. "Let's just take a step back, okay?" Kaminari suggested, his eyes darting between Bakugo and me. The group around us began to murmur, some of them taking Kaminari's advice and backing away. Kirishima and Deku, however, remained by my side, their faces set in determined expressions. Bakugo's anger seemed to be simmering just below the surface, and I could tell that this wasn't over yet. The question was, what would happen next?
