Beyond Despair
Part 62
"What are you going to do to me?" I asked, my voice trembling as I gazed around the room, searching for some clue, some hint of what was to come. The fluorescent lights overhead seemed to hum louder, casting an eerie glow over the cold, sterile space. The air was thick with tension, and I could feel my heart pounding in my chest like a drum. Toga's smile grew even wider, her eyes glinting with excitement. "Oh, we're going to make you a part of our family," she said, her voice dripping with enthusiasm. "You're going to be one of us, just like Dabi, just like Tomura." I shook my head, a sense of horror washing over me. "No, please," I begged, my voice cracking with fear. "You can't do this. I won't let you." Tomura chuckled, a cold, mirthless sound. "You don't have a choice," he said, his eyes glinting with amusement. "You're already a part of our plans, and you're going to see this through to the end." Dabi's expression remained unreadable, but I could sense a flicker of emotion behind his eyes. It was a small spark, but it was enough to give me hope. Maybe, just maybe, he would find a way to help me, to save me from this nightmare. But for now, I was at the mercy of these people, and I had no idea what they had planned for me. I looked around the room, searching for some way out, some escape route. But there was none. I was trapped, and I was at their mercy. Toga took a step closer to me, her eyes gleaming with excitement. "We're going to make you undergo a special treatment," she said, her voice dripping with enthusiasm. "A treatment that will change you, that will make you one of us." I shook my head, a sense of horror washing over me. "No, please," I begged, my voice cracking with fear. "You can't do this. I won't let you." But it was too late. Tomura nodded, and two of the other League members stepped forward, their eyes cold and detached. They reached out and grabbed me, holding me in a tight grip. "Don't struggle," Toga said, her voice dripping with amusement. "It won't do you any good." I struggled, but it was no use. They were too strong, and I was trapped. I was at their mercy, and I had no idea what they had planned for me. As they dragged me away, I caught a glimpse of Dabi's face, his eyes flickering with emotion. For a moment, I thought I saw something there, something that made me think he might actually care. But then, his mask slipped back into place, and I was left with nothing but uncertainty and fear.
