A New World Unfolds

Part 14

The next morning, Suzuya woke up early, feeling a mix of excitement and nervousness. He got dressed in his new school uniform, which consisted of a crisp white short-sleeved turtle-neck shirt, plaid black pants, a red tie, and a black uniform blazer. He looked at himself in the mirror and smiled, feeling like a completely different person. As he walked downstairs, he saw Big Madam, also known as Mom, sitting at the kitchen table, sipping her coffee. But to his surprise, she didn't even look up at him, let alone give him a kiss on the lips like she normally did. Suzuya's smile faltered for a moment, and he felt a pang of sadness. "Good morning, Mom," Suzuya said, trying to sound cheerful. Big Madam grunted in response, still not looking at him. Suzuya shrugged and walked out of the house, feeling a bit down. As he walked to the school entrance, he met two seniors, Amon and Akira, who were tasked with keeping an eye on him. Amon was a tall, muscular boy with short black hair and blue eyes, while Akira was a petite girl with neck-length blonde hair and blue eyes. "Good morning, Suzuya," Amon said, his voice professional and friendly. "I'm Amon, and this is Akira. We're here to show you around the school." Suzuya smiled and nodded, feeling a bit more at ease. "Good morning, Amon, Akira. I'm Suzuya." Akira's eyes narrowed as she looked at Suzuya's white hair and red eyes. "Wow, you're quite... striking," she said, her voice laced with curiosity. "What's with your hair? Is it dyed?" Suzuya chuckled and shook his head. "No, it's my natural hair color. I've always had white hair and red eyes." Amon's eyes widened slightly, but he quickly composed himself. "That's... interesting," he said. "We can discuss that later, if you'd like." Akira nodded, a sly smile spreading across her face. "Yeah, we can definitely do something about that later." As they walked through the school, Suzuya couldn't help but notice that everyone was staring at him. Some of the boys looked jealous or angry, while the girls all seemed to adore him. "Wow, you're so cute!" one of the girls exclaimed, her eyes shining with excitement. "You look like a doll!" Suzuya smiled and blushed, feeling a bit self-conscious. "Thanks," he said, his voice barely above a whisper. Amon and Akira showed Suzuya around the school, introducing him to various teachers and students. As they walked, Akira chatted excitedly about the school's clubs and activities, while Amon provided more information about the school's policies and rules. By the end of the tour, Suzuya was feeling overwhelmed but happy. Amon offered to buy him breakfast, but Suzuya declined, thinking to himself that Mom hadn't said he was allowed to eat yet. "Thanks, Amon, but I'm not hungry right now," Suzuya said, his smile still plastered on his face. Akira raised an eyebrow, but Amon just nodded. "No problem, Suzuya. We'll catch up with you later, then." As they parted ways, Akira took Suzuya to his class, where he sat in the back, trying to blend in. But it was no use - everyone kept staring at him, his white hair and red eyes drawing attention like a magnet. After class, a bunch of girls came up to him, asking if his hair and eyes were really that color. Suzuya smiled and nodded, feeling a bit like a sideshow attraction. "Wow, you're so pretty!" one of the girls exclaimed. "You look like an albino bunny!" The other girls all "awww"ed in agreement, and Suzuya chuckled, feeling a bit embarrassed. As he walked out of class, he noticed a group of guys watching him from across the hall. They looked angry or jealous, and Suzuya could tell they were talking about him. Akira and Amon came to pick Suzuya up for his next class, and as they walked, everyone kept coming up to him, talking to him, and asking him questions. After school, Amon walked Suzuya to the entrance, chatting with him about his first day. "So, Suzuya, how was your first day?" Amon asked, his voice friendly and concerned. Suzuya smiled, feeling happy and relieved. "It was great, Amon! I met a lot of new people, and I got to see the school. Thanks for showing me around!" Amon smiled back, his blue eyes crinkling at the corners. "No problem, Suzuya. I'm glad I could help. Now, get to the dorm room safely, okay?" Suzuya nodded, feeling a bit more at ease. "I will, Amon. Thanks again!" As Amon walked away to find Akira, Suzuya started walking to the dorm room, feeling happy and carefree. But as he walked, he noticed a group of boys following him, their faces twisted in anger or jealousy. The boys surrounded him, starting to hurl insults his way. Suzuya's smile never wavered, but his eyes flashed with anger. "Hey, you're that freak with the white hair, right?" one of the boys sneered. "You think you're so special with your pretty hair and your red eyes?" Suzuya's face went blank, and he attacked, his fists flying as he took down the boys one by one. He was fast and efficient, not getting hit once as he fought. When it was all over, Suzuya picked up his bag and skipped home, humming happily. He had a few bruises, but he was otherwise fine. As he walked, he noticed that his clothes were stained with blood, but it wasn't his. Suzuya grinned to himself, feeling happy and satisfied. He couldn't wait to see what the rest of the week had in store. As he walked through the door, he called out, "Mom, I'm home!" Big Madam looked up from her book, a hint of surprise in her eyes. "Suzuya, you're home early. How was your first day?" Suzuya smiled, feeling happy and carefree. "It was great, Mom! I met a lot of new people, and I got to see the school. And I got into a fight, but I won!" Big Madam's expression changed, her eyes narrowing as she looked at Suzuya's bruised face. "Suzuya, what happened?" Suzuya shrugged, his smile still plastered on his face. "Some guys were picking on me, but I took care of them. Don't worry, Mom. I'm fine." Big Madam sighed, her expression softening. "Okay, Suzuya. Just be careful, okay?" Suzuya nodded, feeling happy and content. "I will, Mom. I promise."
