"A Shift in Emotions"
Part 36
Izaya closed the portal with a swift motion, the swirling vortex dissipating into nothingness as he turned to glare at Shizuo. His eyes blazed with a mix of anger and frustration, his face twisted in a scowl. "Shizu-chan, you pissing me off," he growled, his voice low and menacing. With a sudden movement, Izaya grabbed Shizuo by the collar and shook him, his grip like a vice. "You don't deserve happiness, you are a monster," he spat, his words cutting deep into Shizuo's psyche. Shizuo looked down, his eyes avoiding Izaya's intense gaze. "Yes, I don't deserve love," he muttered, his voice barely audible. Izaya's expression faltered, his eyes softening as he gazed at Shizuo. He seemed to be taken aback by Shizuo's words, his anger dissipating into a deep sadness. He released his grip on Shizuo's collar, his hands hovering over Shizuo's shoulders as if unsure of what to do next. "I'm sorry, Shizu-chan," Izaya said, his voice gentle, a stark contrast to his earlier outburst. "Let me take you out to eat." Without waiting for a response, Izaya scooped Shizuo up into his arms, cradling him like a child. Shizuo's eyes widened in surprise as Izaya's lips brushed against his, the kiss gentle and soothing. "I'm going to take you to an expensive restaurant and movie theater," Izaya whispered, his breath tickling Shizuo's ear. "We'll have a nice time, just the two of us." Shizuo's face was pressed against Izaya's chest, his voice muffled. "But why, Izaya?" he asked, his curiosity getting the better of him. Izaya's chuckle rumbled through his chest, vibrating against Shizuo's ear. "Because I feel like it, Shizu-chan," he replied, his voice husky. "And because I want to make you happy, even if it's just for a little while." Shizuo's eyes peeked up at Izaya, searching for answers. "You don't have to do that, Izaya," he said, his voice barely above a whisper. Izaya's gaze locked onto Shizuo's, his eyes burning with a deep intensity. "I want to, Shizu-chan," he said, his voice low and husky. "I want to make you forget about Vanitas and his precious love. I want to be the one you think of, the one you want." Shizuo's face went still, his eyes locked onto Izaya's as he processed his words. Izaya's expression was unreadable, but his eyes betrayed a deep vulnerability, a longing for connection. "I'll take you out, and we'll have fun," Izaya said, his voice gentle once more. "And for one night, at least, you'll forget about everything else." Shizuo nodded, a small smile playing on his lips. "Okay, Izaya," he said, his voice soft. Izaya's face lit up with a warm smile, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "Good," he said, his voice husky. "Let's go."
