**Chapter 1: The Transatlantic Transfer**

Part 1

As I stepped off the Hogwarts Express, my eyes widened in awe at the majestic castle that loomed before me. I had heard so much about Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, but nothing compared to the reality. I, Liliana Stocks, had transferred from a school in Mexico to this prestigious institution in Scotland, and I was both excited and nervous. My friends, Elias Martinez and Seth Mackinlay, flanked me on either side, their luggage carts rattling behind us. Elias, with his chiseled features and dark hair, flashed me a charming smile. "Hey, Liliana, you ready to take on this place?" He playfully nudged me, his arm brushing against mine. I blushed, used to his affectionate nature, but still a bit self-conscious about my chubby, short stature. My black, wavy curls bounced as I nodded, my eyes scanning the crowd. Seth, tall and lanky, with a messy mop of blond hair, grinned at me. "I've got your back, Liliana. And some snacks, just in case." He patted his bag, and I smiled, appreciating his thoughtfulness. He always seemed to know when I needed a pick-me-up, especially with his endless supply of treats. As we made our way through the throngs of students, I couldn't help but notice the curious glances. I was a bit of an oddity, with my mixed Mexican and Filipino heritage, and my love for swimming, astronomy, and baking. But I was determined to fit in and make new friends. Professor McGonagall, the Transfiguration professor, greeted us warmly and led us to the Great Hall for the welcoming feast. As we entered, I gasped at the long tables laden with food, and the enchanted ceiling that seemed to shift and change above us. Oliver Wood, the Quidditch team's captain, caught my eye across the hall. He was tall, with piercing blue eyes and a strong jawline. I felt a flutter in my chest, but quickly looked away, focusing on the food instead. As we took our seats, Elias leaned in, his voice low. "Hey, Liliana, I heard the Quidditch team is having a tryout soon. You think you might be interested?" He winked at me, and I rolled my eyes good-naturedly. Seth, seated on my other side, placed a gentle hand on my shoulder. "I've got some sandwiches in my bag, Liliana. You okay?" I smiled, feeling grateful for his thoughtfulness. Just then, Elias reached out and playfully tousled my hair, his fingers brushing against my ear. I blushed, feeling a bit flustered. "Hey, Liliana, you look adorable when you're nervous." He chuckled, and I shot him a look, trying to hide my smile. As the feast began, I couldn't help but steal glances at Oliver Wood, wondering what it would be like to get to know him better. Little did I know, my life was about to become much more complicated, with Elias and Seth vying for my attention, and Oliver Wood watching me from afar...
