**Chapter 11: Sophia's Wisdom**

Part 11

As the contraction intensified, Dorothy's body tensed up, her hands clenching into fists. "It hurts, I don't know if I can do this anymore," she cried out, her voice shaking with fear and pain. Lucas held her close, his arms wrapped tightly around her waist, trying to provide as much comfort as possible. Sophia, who had been quietly observing the scene, stepped forward and placed a gentle hand on Dorothy's shoulder. "Ah, cara, I know exactly what you're going through," she said, her voice filled with empathy. "I had to give birth to you in a similar situation, you know." Dorothy looked up at Sophia, surprised. "Really, Sophia?" she asked, her voice laced with curiosity. Sophia nodded, a small smile playing on her lips. "Si, cara. Your mother, God rest her soul, she had a difficult time giving birth to you. We were in a small apartment, and the doctor couldn't make it in time. But I was there, and I helped your mother push you out." Rose and Blanche looked at each other, surprised by Sophia's revelation. Lucas held Dorothy close, his eyes locked on Sophia's face. Sophia continued, her voice calm and soothing. "It was a chaotic situation, but your mother was strong, just like you. She pushed through the pain and the fear, and you were born. And now, you're doing the same thing. You're pushing through the pain and the fear, and your baby is coming." Dorothy felt a surge of determination at Sophia's words. She looked up at Lucas, who was smiling at her, and then back at Sophia, who was watching her with a warm expression. "I can do this," Dorothy said, her voice firm. Sophia nodded, her eyes shining with pride. "You can, cara. You just need to breathe and push. The baby is almost here." Blanche and Rose chimed in, their voices offering words of encouragement. "You're doing great, Dorothy," Blanche said. "Just a little bit more." "Come on, Dorothy," Rose added. "You can do this. Push!" With Sophia's wisdom and the support of her friends, Dorothy felt a newfound sense of determination. She took a deep breath, and with Lucas holding her close, she began to push, her body straining with effort. The room was filled with tension as they waited for the baby to arrive. Dorothy's friends were all focused on helping her, their faces set in determined expressions. They were a team, working together to bring Dorothy's baby into the world.
