**The Weight of Guilt**

Part 238

I slowly opened the door, tears welling up in my eyes as I gazed at Ochaco's concerned face. Her expression softened as she saw the emotions spilling over, and she took a step closer to me. "I know it's just... that was an accident," I said, my voice cracking as tears began to fall. "Him and Kaminari were fighting at the sleepover, and I intervened... it was my fault," I admitted, the words spilling out of me like a confession. Ochaco's eyes widened in surprise, and she reached out to gently wipe away the tears streaming down my face. "Vesper, no, it wasn't your fault," she said, her voice filled with empathy. "You can't blame yourself for trying to stop a fight." But I couldn't shake the feeling that I was responsible. If I hadn't intervened, Bakugo and Kaminari might not have gotten into that fight, and Bakugo might not have lashed out at me. The guilt was eating away at me, making it hard to breathe. Ochaco pulled me into a gentle hug, holding me as I cried. "You don't have to carry this alone, Vesper," she whispered. "We're here for you, and we'll help you figure things out." As I cried, I felt a sense of relief wash over me. It was okay to not have all the answers, and it was okay to ask for help. Ochaco's words were a reminder that I didn't have to face my problems by myself. But as I pulled back from the hug, I saw a look of determination on Ochaco's face. "We need to talk to Bakugo," she said, her voice firm. "We need to make sure he understands that his behavior isn't okay." I hesitated, feeling a pang of anxiety. I didn't want to confront Bakugo again, not yet. But Ochaco's expression told me that she was resolute, and that she wouldn't give up until we had this conversation. I took a deep breath, steeling myself for what was to come. "Okay," I said, my voice barely above a whisper. "Let's do it."
