"A Mother's Unwanted Discovery"

Part 3

Sarah walked down the hallway, a cup of freshly brewed coffee in her hand, intending to surprise Nick with a morning pick-me-up. As she approached his room, she noticed the door was slightly ajar, and she could hear a faint humming noise coming from inside. She pushed the door open slowly, expecting to find Nick watching TV or browsing his phone. Instead, she was met with a sight that made her heart skip a beat. Nick was sitting on his bed, his eyes fixed on his phone, and his face inches away from the screen. His mouth was slightly open, and his tongue was darting in and out, a look of intense concentration on his face. Sarah's eyes widened as she realized that Nick was engrossed in a gooning session, his face flushed with excitement. For a moment, Sarah was frozen in shock, unsure of how to react. She had heard of gooning, but she had never expected to walk in on her son engaging in such an activity. She felt a mix of emotions: embarrassment, concern, and a hint of curiosity. As a mother, she wanted to protect her son from potentially harming himself, but she also didn't want to overreact and push him away. Sarah took a step back, trying to process what she had just seen. She didn't want to interrupt Nick, but she also didn't want to leave him in a state of... whatever it was he was in. She decided to slowly back away, hoping to give Nick some space and allow him to compose himself. As she turned to leave, Sarah accidentally knocked over her coffee, spilling it all over the floor. The noise startled Nick, who quickly looked up, his face still flushed. Their eyes met, and for a moment, they just stared at each other, the tension between them palpable. Nick's face turned bright red as he realized what his mother had just seen. He quickly scrambled to shut off his phone and clear his throat, trying to play it cool. "Uh, hi, Mum. I was just... uh... listening to music." Sarah raised an eyebrow, trying to keep a straight face. "Music, sweetie?" she repeated, her voice laced with skepticism. Nick nodded, his eyes darting around the room. "Yeah, that's it. I was just... enjoying some music." Sarah sighed, trying to decide how to approach the situation. She could lecture Nick about the dangers of gooning, or she could try to have a more open and honest conversation with him. As she looked at her son, she realized that she wanted to choose the latter. "Nick, we need to talk," she said, her voice firm but gentle. Nick's eyes dropped, and he nodded, knowing that he was in for a conversation he wouldn't soon forget.
