Uninvited Guest
Part 13
I was trying to drift off to sleep again, but my peace was short-lived as I heard a knock on my bedroom door. I groggily got out of bed and made my way to the door, rubbing the sleep from my eyes. I hesitated for a moment, wondering who could be visiting at such a late hour, and then I heard Adrian's voice. "Hey, can I come in?" he asked, his voice still slurred from being drunk. I sighed and opened the door, and Adrian stumbled into my room. He looked around, his eyes taking in the familiar surroundings, and then he focused on me. "Your couch is too uncomfortable to sleep on," he said, his voice laced with complaint. "Can I sleep in here?" I raised an eyebrow, unsure of what to do. I had no blankets to make a bed on the floor, and it was clear that Adrian wasn't in any shape to set up a makeshift bed. I looked at my bed, and then back at Adrian, and finally decided to let him sleep in my room. "Fine," I said, trying to sound firm. "But just for tonight, and don't think this means you're getting out of sleeping on the couch tomorrow night." Adrian nodded gratefully, stumbling over to the bed. He collapsed onto it, sinking into the mattress with a soft sigh. I looked at him, feeling a mix of emotions. Part of me was annoyed that he was disrupting my life again, but another part of me was concerned for his well-being. I realized that I had no choice but to let him sleep in my bed, as there were no other options available. "Get under the covers," I said, trying to sound firm. "And don't touch anything." Adrian nodded, his eyes already starting to droop. He pulled the covers up to his chin, and I could see the tension in his body start to ease. As I looked at him, I couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. I was sharing my bed with a man who was a virtual stranger, and I had no idea what his intentions were. But for now, I pushed those thoughts aside, telling myself that I was just being a good Samaritan. I got into bed on the opposite side, trying to put as much distance between us as possible. As I lay there, I couldn't help but feel a sense of discomfort. Adrian's presence in my bed was making me feel uneasy, and I couldn't shake off the feeling that this was going to be a long night. As I lay there, I could feel Adrian's body heat radiating towards me, and I knew that I was in for a restless night's sleep. I closed my eyes, trying to shut out the thoughts that were swirling in my head, and focused on getting some rest. But as I drifted off to sleep, I couldn't shake off the feeling that Adrian's presence in my life was going to cause a lot more trouble than I was prepared for.
