"Midnight Mayhem in the Dorms"
Part 1
It was 11:30 pm, and the community space in Ray and Tota's dorm was still bustling with life. Ray, a 19-year-old streamer from Taiwan, was lounging on the couch, his short, curly black hair messy from a long day of streaming. His bright brown eyes sparkled as he chatted with his friends, his higher-pitched voice rising above the din of the room. Rakai, a 16-year-old student with a sassy attitude and a penchant for flirting, was teasing Ray about his latest stream, making him blush. Tota, Ray's roommate from Brazil, was sitting on the floor, nodding along to the conversation, though he didn't understand much of what was being said. His limited English vocabulary was restricted to basic phrases, but his warm smile and friendly demeanor made up for it. The group was having a good time, laughing and joking around, when suddenly, the door burst open, and a random guy stormed in. "You! Tota! You're the one who's been ding dong ditching at my room all night!" he exclaimed, his voice loud and accusatory. The room fell silent, and everyone's eyes turned to Tota, who looked confused and scared. Ray quickly jumped to his friend's defense, "Hey, that's not true! Tota was with me all day, we streamed together, and he never left my side!" Ray's stuttering problems became more pronounced as he got agitated, "W-we were t-together, I-I swear!" The random guy scoffed, "I don't care about your streams, I know what I saw, and it was him!" The situation quickly escalated, with the random guy and Ray getting into a heated argument. The others in the room tried to stay out of it, but it was clear that the random guy was not going to back down. The argument spilled out into the hallway, with the group following close behind. The noise caught the attention of Tylil, a 24-year-old student who was walking back to his room. He strode over to see what was going on, his normally toned voice calm and authoritative. "Hey, hey, what's going on here?" he asked, trying to de-escalate the situation. However, Tylil's intervention only made things worse. He seemed to take the random guy's side, saying, "Dude, if you're saying you saw him, then maybe we should listen to him." Ray's face turned red with anger, "No way, Tylil! You're supposed to be neutral! Tota's innocent, I swear!" Rakai, who had been watching the scene unfold, quickly grabbed Ray and Tota's arms, "Guys, let's just go back to our room, it's late, and this isn't worth it." As Rakai dragged Ray and Tota back into their room, the random guy shouted, "This isn't over! You'll pay for what you did!" Ray and Tota collapsed onto their beds, exhausted and shaken. Rakai gave them a reassuring smile before heading back to his own dorm, his roommate Jamal waiting for him. As the door closed, Ray let out a deep sigh, "Man, what a night." Tota nodded in agreement, though he didn't understand much of what had just happened. He smiled and patted Ray's back, "Tudo bem, amigo," (it's okay, friend) before drifting off to sleep. Ray smiled back, feeling grateful for his friend's support, and soon followed suit, the events of the night already fading into a hazy memory.
