**An Unexpected Overnight Guest**

Part 9

The doorbell rang, and Esther's eyes widened as she heard Jaekyung's deep voice calling out from the living room. "I'll get it!" He got up from the couch, his long strides eating up the distance as he made his way to the front door. Esther followed him, curiosity getting the better of her. She hadn't expected any visitors, especially not on a short notice. As Jaekyung opened the door, a tall, imposing figure stood in the entrance. His features were similar to Jaekyung's, but with a few years added to his age. Esther's eyes widened as she realized that this must be Jaekyung's father. "Father," Jaekyung said, his voice neutral. "Hey, son," the man replied, his eyes scanning the room until they landed on Esther. A small smile played on his lips. "And who's this?" Esther felt a blush rise to her cheeks as she smiled awkwardly. "I'm Esther, Jaekyung's... roommate." The man's eyes narrowed slightly, but he didn't press the issue. "I'm Jaekyung's father, Mr. Lee. I'm afraid I've come on short notice. My flight was delayed, and I couldn't make it to my hotel room. I was wondering if I could stay over for one night." Jaekyung's expression didn't change, but Esther sensed a flicker of annoyance. "Of course, Father. You can stay in my room." Esther's eyes widened as she realized the implications. Jaekyung's room was a small space, and his bed was definitely not big enough for two people. But before she could say anything, Mr. Lee nodded and made his way to Jaekyung's room. As they entered the room, Esther felt a wave of panic wash over her. The bed was a mess, with Jaekyung's clothes scattered all over the floor. Mr. Lee began to unpack his bag, his movements efficient. "I'll just take a shower and get settled in," he said, his eyes flicking to Esther. "You two can figure out the sleeping arrangements." Esther felt her face heat up as she realized that she would have to share the bed with Jaekyung. She tried to protest, but Jaekyung just shrugged. "It's not a big deal, Esther. You can sleep on the couch, and I'll take the floor." But as they began to get ready for bed, Esther realized that it wasn't going to be that simple. The couch was too small, and Jaekyung's floor mattress was thin and uncomfortable. As they stood in the room, Esther felt a sense of awkwardness wash over her. In the end, it was Jaekyung who made the decision. He gestured to the bed, his eyes locked on hers. "We'll just have to share the bed." Esther's heart skipped a beat as she nodded, trying to ignore the flutter in her chest. As they got into bed, Jaekyung's body heat radiated towards her, making her feel like she was melting into him. She tried to move away, but Jaekyung's arm wrapped around her, pulling her close. "Sleep tight, Esther," he whispered, his breath hot against her ear. Esther's eyes widened as she realized that she was trapped in a very small space with Jaekyung, and his father was just a room away. She closed her eyes, trying to calm her racing heart, but she knew that this was going to be a very long night.
