Spiraling Out of Control
Part 14
The darkness that had settled within Kageyama seemed to be spreading, creeping into every aspect of his life. His teammates and friends had been trying to reach out to him, to get through to him, but he pushed them away. Oikawa, particularly, had been trying to reconnect with Kageyama, but it seemed like the more he tried, the more Kageyama pulled away. The warning signs were there, but no one seemed to notice them until it was too late. Kageyama's substance use had become more frequent, and the substances themselves seemed to be getting stronger. He would disappear for hours at a time, only to reappear when the cravings became too much to bear. The once-star player of the volleyball team had begun to starve himself, his passion for the sport dwindling with each passing day. He would show up to practice, but his movements were lackluster, his eyes sunken, and his spirit crushed. Hinata tried to talk to him, to get through to him, but Kageyama just shut him down. Oikawa tried to reason with him, but Kageyama just pushed him away. It seemed like Kageyama had given up, like he had lost all sense of purpose. The team was worried, but they didn't know what to do. They had never seen Kageyama like this before. He was always the one who kept them going, who pushed them to be their best. But now, it seemed like he was the one who needed help. As the days turned into weeks, Kageyama's condition continued to deteriorate. He would disappear for hours at a time, only to reappear when he needed something. The substances had taken over his life, and it seemed like he was powerless to stop them. Oikawa tried to stay by his side, to be there for him when he needed someone, but it was getting harder and harder. Kageyama was slipping away, and Oikawa didn't know how to reach him. The team's coach called a meeting to discuss Kageyama's situation, but it was clear that they were all worried. They didn't know what to do, or how to help their teammate. As they sat in the meeting room, trying to come up with a plan, Oikawa couldn't help but feel a sense of hopelessness. It seemed like Kageyama was gone, like he had lost him forever. The meeting ended with no clear plan, but Oikawa knew that he had to do something. He couldn't just sit back and watch Kageyama spiral out of control. He had to try and reach him, to bring him back from the edge. But as he left the meeting room, Oikawa couldn't shake the feeling that he was already too late. Kageyama was slipping away, and he didn't know if he would ever be able to get him back.
