"A Morning of Unforeseen Consequences"

Part 61

As we walked out of the room, I couldn't help but feel a sense of normalcy wash over me. Maybe this wouldn't be so bad after all. Osby and I made our way to the dorm's common room, where the smell of freshly brewed coffee and cooking food wafted through the air. Just as we were about to enter, Mina and Ochaco burst out of the room, their eyes scanning the area until they landed on us. Mina's eyes widened as she took in Osby's appearance, and she quickly pulled me away, a mischievous glint in her eye. "Hey, who's the hot guy?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper. I felt my face heat up as I stuttered, "Uh, it's my shadow... or a friend, I guess." Mina's eyes sparkled with amusement as she walked up to Osby, her gaze roving over his features. "By the way, Vesper thinks you're super hot," she said, her voice nonchalant. I immediately panicked, my eyes darting to Mina in warning. "Mina, I never said that you did!" I protested, trying to downplay the situation. Mina grinned, her eyes glinting with mischief. "That's what you thought, though." I felt my face flush with embarrassment, and I could feel my heart racing. I took a deep breath, trying to calm down, but it was no use. I was mortified. Osby, however, just giggled, his eyes sparkling with amusement. "To be honest, I like her too," he said, his voice directed at Mina. Mina squealed, her eyes lighting up with excitement. "Really?" The commotion had drawn the attention of the others, and soon, Bakugo, Deku, Kirishima, Kaminari, and Todoroki had gathered around us, their eyes curious. Todoroki's gaze narrowed as he looked at Osby, his expression seeming protective of me. I felt a flutter in my chest as I realized that he was looking out for me. The tension was broken when Mina dragged Osby into the common room, introducing him to the others. We spent the morning eating, chatting, and getting to know each other. Just as we were settling into a comfortable routine, the announcement came over the intercom. "Attention, students. The sports festival will be held in one month's time. Details will be provided later." The room fell silent as we all processed the news. A sports festival? It sounded like a challenge, and I couldn't help but feel a spark of excitement. Little did I know, this was just the beginning of a new chapter in our lives.
