Turning Point in Training
Part 29
The other teams had already begun their battles, and the sound of clashing hero suits and shouts filled the air. Deku and Ochaco had taken down Bakugo and Ida, while Todoroki and Shoji were waiting for their next opponents. I could see that Kirishima and Sero were putting up a good fight against Mina and Hitoshi, but it was clear that Kirishima's Hardening Quirk was giving them an advantage. As the fights continued, Ojiro and I waited for our turn. Finally, Aizawa Sensei shouted that it was our time to enter the fray. We sprinted towards the area where Todoroki and Shoji were waiting. As we approached, I could see the ice forming on the ground, just as I had expected. Without hesitation, Ojiro and I jumped over the icy barrier, avoiding getting caught. Todoroki's eyes widened in surprise as he realized we weren't trapped. Shoji, however, didn't react as quickly, and Ojiro took advantage of the distraction to make a run for Todoroki's weapon. Todoroki quickly turned his attention to Ojiro, charging towards him with a fierce expression. I stepped in front of Ojiro, ready to defend him. Todoroki didn't hesitate, and we clashed in a flurry of punches and kicks. I used my martial arts training to try and take him down, but Todoroki was a formidable opponent. He managed to overpower me, and I stumbled backwards, my arm throbbing in pain. Todoroki quickly froze my arm, and I felt a wave of coldness wash over me. I gritted my teeth, trying to withstand the pain, but it was no use. Todoroki saw that I was hurt and his expression softened slightly, his guard dropping. That's when I saw my chance. With a surge of adrenaline, I launched myself at Todoroki, using every ounce of strength I had. To my surprise, he stumbled backwards, caught off guard by my sudden counterattack. Todoroki's eyes widened in shock as I managed to take him down. Meanwhile, Ojiro had successfully retrieved Todoroki's weapon, and our team was declared the winner. As I walked away from the battlefield, I couldn't help but feel a bit shaken. The coldness from Todoroki's Quirk still lingered in my arm, and I stumbled slightly as I made my way towards the classroom. Just as I was about to enter the classroom, I felt a presence behind me. I turned to see Todoroki approaching me, a look of concern on his face. "Hey, Vesper, I'm sorry I did that," he said, his voice soft. "But congratulations, you and Ojiro won." I smiled weakly, trying to respond, but my vision began to blur. "Thanks, Todoroki," I said, my voice barely above a whisper. The next thing I knew, my legs gave out, and I felt myself falling. Strong arms caught me, and I found myself in Todoroki's arms, his warmth enveloping me. As I looked up at him, I felt a wave of relief wash over me. Todoroki's right side was warm, and I snuggled into it, feeling my body relax. I was cold, but with Todoroki's warmth surrounding me, I felt a sense of comfort that I hadn't felt in a long time. As my eyes closed, I knew that I had passed out, and Todoroki was holding me.
