The Dark Reflection
Part 59
Aggravation paints itself on my face. "Exactly that." The first time my shadow severed her bounds to my body and ran off, I was flabbergasted. I had never imagined the drawbacks to my quirk could consist in that. But when the little shit turned towards me and stuck out her tongue before sprinting away- fuck, if she wasn't a part of me I would have choked her. It took me hours to track her down to the nearby park, and as time went on I felt more and more faint. When I finally caught her a wave of relief crashed down on me. I didn't know how far the effects could go, but it wasn't so far-fetched to imagine that if one day she managed to disappear for good (like she seemed very eager of doing, exactly like Peter Pan's)... I would die. But that's something I would rather not think about. "If only I found a way to disconnect her from me on my will..." I mumble, unaware of Inasa's eyes stuck on me. "I could use her for many goals, to distract my enemies or rely messages to my allies- although she doesn't talk? I've never heard her, at least. But she has my memories, so she could somehow convey a concept to someone-" My cheeks heat up as I'm interrupted by Inasa's booming laugh. How can his voice be so deep, he's a child. I shoot him a sidelong glance, trying to appear nonchalant despite my embarrassment. "See!!" Inasa smiles gleefully. "How can you say you don't know whether to become a hero, when you're so passionate about it!"
