A Desperate Plea
Part 104
"Bakugo, it's fine, just calm down, ok…" I asked, trying to sound as soothing as possible despite the fear and anxiety that was coursing through my veins. Bakugo's angry shouting grew louder, more furious, as he struggled against his restraints. "I'm not going to let them hurt you, Vesper!" he shouted, his voice hoarse with emotion. "I won't let them touch you!" I took a deep breath, trying to calm him down. "It's fine," I said calmly. "I'll be ok." But Bakugo was beyond reason. He was frantic with worry, and I could see the desperation in his eyes. "No, no, no!" he shouted, his face red with rage. "I won't let them do this to you! You're the only one who understands me, Vesper! The only one who gets me!" Himiko's grip on my arm tightened, her knife digging deeper into my skin. "Ah, how sweet," she whispered, her breath hot against my ear. "The little explosion-boy is willing to do anything to protect you." Tomura's eyes lit up with excitement, his gaze fixed on Bakugo. "Yes, this is perfect," he said, his voice dripping with sadistic pleasure. "The two of them, bound together by their love and concern for each other. It's almost... poetic." Dabi's expression remained neutral, but a hint of anticipation danced in his eyes. "Yes, let's see how long it takes for Katsuki to crack under the pressure," he said, his voice laced with amusement. I knew I had to keep Bakugo calm, to keep him from losing control completely. I took a deep breath, trying to think of something to say to calm him down. "Bakugo, listen to me," I said, trying to sound as calm and soothing as possible. "I'm going to be okay, I promise. Just calm down, and let me handle this." Bakugo's eyes locked onto mine, and for a moment, I thought I saw a glimmer of understanding there. He took a deep breath, his chest heaving with emotion, and nodded slowly. "Okay," he said, his voice barely above a whisper. "I'll try." I smiled, trying to reassure him. "That's all I can ask for," I said, trying to sound calm and confident. But inside, I was panicking. I had no idea what Dabi and Tomura had planned, or how I was going to get us out of this alive.
