Stepping Out of Her Comfort Zone
Part 6
Koa stood in front of her closet, deliberating on what to wear for the team bonding event. She had decided to go out with the team to a restaurant and bar, despite feeling a bit hesitant. As a quiet and reserved person, large social gatherings made her nervous, but she didn't want to miss out on the opportunity to bond with her colleagues. She finally settled on a black knitted halter top that showcased her toned arms and shoulders. Paired with her favorite ripped jeans, which were fitted around her waist and thighs and slightly bootcut at the bottom, she felt confident and stylish. Her black and white classic Vans added a casual touch to her outfit. She decided to leave her hair down, and as a finishing touch, she put a fake plumeria behind her ear. Taking a deep breath, Koa left her apartment and made her way to the restaurant. As she arrived, she spotted the team easily - they were a group of giant men being loud and boisterous. Before she could even make her way over, Reece Walsh, a player she had met briefly during practice, spotted her and beckoned her to come join them. He happily walked over to her, a wide grin on his face, and put his arm over her shoulders like they were best friends. Koa felt a bit taken aback, but she tried to play it cool. As they walked towards the group, she noticed Jordan, the team's star player, watching her with a slightly jealous expression. However, as his eyes landed on her, his gaze lingered, and he seemed captivated by her appearance. As they reached the group, the team welcomed her with open arms, complimenting her on her outfit and trying to get her to relax and enjoy herself. Koa felt a bit overwhelmed, but she tried to let loose and have fun. Jesse Arthars, another player, was the first to notice her tattoos. As some of them were visible in her halter top, he couldn't help but comment on them. "Whoa, you're inked up," he said, his eyes scanning her arms and shoulders. "I love it. What's the story behind them?" Koa smiled, feeling a bit more at ease. She began to share the stories behind her tattoos, and Jesse listened intently, asking questions and sharing his own experiences with tattoos. The conversation flowed easily, and Koa found herself feeling more and more comfortable around the team. As the night went on, Koa couldn't help but notice the way Jordan kept glancing at her, his eyes lingering on her face and her tattoos. She felt a flutter in her chest, but she tried not to read too much into it. She was just happy to be a part of the team and to be having fun. The team ordered drinks and food, and Koa found herself laughing and joking with the players. She was surprised by how easy it was to connect with them, and she felt grateful to be a part of such a close-knit group. As the evening drew to a close, Koa realized that she had had a great time. She was glad she had decided to step out of her comfort zone and join the team for the bonding event. As they said their goodbyes and headed home, Koa couldn't help but feel a sense of belonging. She was excited to see what the future held for her as a part of the Brisbane Broncos team.
