"A Mother's Soothing Touch"

Part 5

As I lay there, lost in my memories, Hange's mother suddenly sat up straight, a look of determination on her face. She glanced at Hange and Hanji, and then back at me, her eyes filled with a deep understanding. She nodded to herself, as if she had come up with a plan, and then she quickly got up and headed to the bathroom. Hange and Hanji exchanged a worried glance, but they didn't say anything, sensing that Hange's mother was onto something. She returned a moment later with a large towel, which she promptly wet under warm running water. She wrung out the excess water, and then gently approached me. "Let's get you comfortable, dear," she said softly, her voice a gentle melody that seemed to calm the air around me. Hange and Hanji helped her lift me, and she carefully laid me down on the warm, wet blanket that she had spread out on the bed. I felt the warmth seep into my bones, and it was like a gentle hug from an old friend. Hange's mother then wrapped another warm, wet blanket around my fragile body, enveloping me in a cocoon of warmth and comfort. As she gently smoothed out the blanket, her hand came to rest on top of it, her palm flat against my body. It was a gentle, soothing touch, like the warmth of a mother's womb. I felt myself begin to relax, my muscles releasing their tension, my mind calming down. The sensation was almost primal, like I was being wrapped in a warm, safe space that protected me from the outside world. I felt my eyelids growing heavy, my breathing slowing down, as I let go of the memories that had haunted me for so long. Hange's mother stroked my hair gently, her hand moving in slow, soothing strokes. "You're safe now, dear," she whispered. "You're safe." As I lay there, wrapped in the warmth and comfort of the blankets, I felt myself drifting off to sleep. It was a deep, peaceful sleep, like I had finally found a place where I could rest without fear. Mr. Whiskers, who had been watching from the side of the bed, jumped up onto the blanket beside me, and began to purr softly. His warmth and gentle vibrations seemed to add to the sense of comfort and security that surrounded me. As I fell asleep, I felt Hange's mother's hand still resting on the blanket, a gentle reminder that I was not alone. And in that moment, I knew that I was exactly where I needed to be – safe, warm, and loved.
