New Beginnings
Part 5
As I sat on the couch, Avan snuggled up beside me, his arm wrapped around my shoulders, I couldn't help but think about how much had changed in the past few months. My decision to perform at Coachella had been a turning point for me, and it had led to a renewed sense of purpose and passion in my life. My music career was thriving, and Ender was loving every minute of it. But as we sat there, watching the sunset through the window, Avan turned to me with a serious look on his face. "Ashley, can we talk about something?" he asked, his voice gentle. I nodded, feeling a sense of trepidation. "What's on your mind?" I asked, trying to sound casual. Avan took a deep breath before speaking. "I've been thinking a lot about our future, and I was wondering if you've thought about starting a family." My heart skipped a beat as I processed his words. Starting a family was a big step, and it was something that Avan and I had discussed before, but never really planned for. I had always been open to the idea, but my struggles with endometriosis had made it a complicated issue. "I have thought about it," I said, trying to gauge his reaction. "But with my endo, it's not always easy. We'd have to be careful and try different methods." Avan's expression turned understanding. "I know it's not going to be easy, but I'm willing to try with you. We can try different treatments, and see what works best for you." I felt a lump form in my throat as I looked at him. He was always so supportive, so understanding. "I appreciate that," I said, my voice barely above a whisper. We sat there in silence for a moment, contemplating the possibilities. I knew that trying for a baby would be a challenge, but with Avan by my side, I felt like we could face anything. "I've been doing some research," Avan said, breaking the silence. "There are some new treatments that might help. We could try ICSI or IVF." I nodded, feeling a sense of hope. Maybe, just maybe, we could make this work. "Let's do it," I said, my voice filled with determination. Avan's face broke into a wide smile, and he pulled me into a tight hug. "We'll do this together," he said, his voice filled with conviction. As we hugged, I felt a sense of excitement and nervousness. Trying for a baby would be a journey, but with Avan by my side, I knew that we could face whatever came our way. And as we pulled back, I saw the love and adoration in his eyes, and I knew that we were in this together, no matter what. Franklin, who had been quietly sleeping at our feet, suddenly stirred and wagged his tail, as if he too was excited about the new developments. I laughed, feeling a sense of joy and anticipation. "I think Franklin's excited too," I said, smiling at Avan. Avan chuckled, and we shared a kiss, the future stretching out before us like a blank canvas, waiting to be filled with color and life.
