Revelations of Blood and Magic
Part 2
As Harriet walked home from the market on a crisp autumn afternoon, she couldn't shake off the feeling of restlessness that had been building up inside her for weeks. It started with small things: a flicker of light in her fingers, a tingling sensation in her toes, and an inexplicable urge to run through the streets, her feet pounding the pavement. She brushed it off as stress and exhaustion, but today, something was different. The air seemed electric, and her senses felt heightened, as if she could hear the whispers of the wind. As she turned a corner, a sudden surge of magic burst forth from her body, sending nearby trash cans flying and pedestrians scattering. Harriet stumbled, her eyes wide with alarm, as she struggled to regain control. The sounds of shattering glass and screams filled the air, and she felt a wave of panic wash over her. A nearby doctor, a Squib with a kind face and a gentle manner, rushed to her side. "Miss, are you alright? You seem to have had a bit of an...episode." He examined her, his hands probing her forehead and pulse, and his eyes narrowed in concern. "I've never seen anything like this before. You have an...unusual aura about you." As the doctor's words trailed off, a group of goblins from Gringotts Wizarding Bank appeared, their eyes gleaming with interest. They surrounded Harriet, their leader, a towering figure with a stern expression, stepping forward. "We have reason to believe that you, Miss...Potter, may be of interest to us." Harriet's confusion deepened. "What do you mean? I'm just...Harriet Potter." The goblin leader smiled, revealing pointed teeth. "Ah, but we think you may be someone else entirely. You see, we have a certain...test that can reveal one's true heritage." He produced a small vial and a needle, and Harriet felt a shiver run down her spine as he drew a sample of her blood. The goblins worked in silence, their eyes fixed on the glowing liquid as it danced with an otherworldly light. Finally, the leader spoke, his voice dripping with reverence. "You, Miss...are Cassiopeia Selene Malfoy, daughter of Lucius and Narcissa Malfoy, and twin sister of Draco Lucius Malfoy." The world around Harriet spun out of control as the goblins' words sank in. She felt like she was drowning in a sea of unfamiliar emotions, her mind reeling with questions. Who was she, really? What had happened to her? The goblins escorted her to the Malfoy estate, where Lucius and Narcissa waited, their faces etched with a mix of shock, joy, and wariness. As Harriet stepped into the grand foyer, she saw a young man with a familiar face, a face that mirrored her own. "Draco," she whispered, her voice trembling. Draco's eyes widened, and he took a step forward, a hesitant smile spreading across his face. "Cass?" Narcissa rushed forward, embracing Harriet tightly. "Our daughter, Cassiopeia. We've searched for you for so long." As the Malfoys welcomed Harriet, or rather, Cassiopeia, back into their family, she felt a sense of belonging she had never known before. But with it came a tidal wave of questions and uncertainty about her past, her magic, and her future. The little girl who had once been known as Harriet Potter was about to embark on a journey that would change her life forever. As Cassiopeia looked at her twin brother, she felt a deep connection, a sense of shared history and destiny. She knew that she had a lot to learn, but with Draco by her side, she felt ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead. The darkness of her past would always be a part of her, but she was determined to forge her own path, to create her own destiny. The Malfoys' world was complex, filled with secrets and lies, but Cassiopeia was ready to navigate its twists and turns. She was a Malfoy, and she would prove herself worthy of her family's name.
