**Chapter 2: Morning After**
Part 2
The harsh light of dawn crept into the room, piercing through my brain like a sharp knife. I groggily opened my eyes, wincing as a wave of pain washed over me. Berlin was sitting beside me, his eyes fixed intently on mine, a cup of steaming coffee in his hand. "Good morning, sunshine," he said, his voice laced with amusement. I tried to respond, but my throat felt parched, and my head throbbed with a pounding headache. Berlin handed me the coffee, and I took a tentative sip, wincing at the bitter taste. As I slowly sat up, memories of the previous night's escapades flooded back. I winced, recalling my embarrassing performance and Berlin's patient care. He must have seen the remorse in my eyes, because he smiled reassuringly. "Don't worry, my love," he said, stroking my hair. "We've all been there. Well, maybe not the Professor," he added with a chuckle, "but the rest of us have our share of wild nights." I took another sip of the coffee, feeling a bit more energized. Berlin helped me out of bed, and we made our way to the bathroom. I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror and gasped. My eyes looked like two black holes, and my skin was sallow. Berlin handed me a glass of water and some painkillers. "Drink this, and then we'll get some food into you," he said, his voice firm but gentle. As I swallowed the pills, I heard a knock at the door. It was Tokyo, her eyes sparkling with mischief. "Morning, sleepyhead," she said, dropping onto the couch beside me. "I see you're feeling a bit more human today." I managed a weak smile, still trying to shake off the haze of the previous night. Tokyo filled me in on the events that had transpired while I was out of commission. The team had been busy, poring over the plans for the heist, and they were getting close to finalizing the details. But as Tokyo chatted, I couldn't shake off the feeling that something was off. Berlin seemed subdued, his usual sparkle missing from his eyes. I nudged him with my elbow, and he met my gaze, his expression guarded. "What's wrong?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper. Berlin hesitated before responding, "There's a complication. The Professor received a message from an unknown number. It's about the heist, and it seems we have a mole in our midst." My heart skipped a beat as I processed the information. A mole? It couldn't be. We'd been so careful, so meticulous in our planning. I felt a shiver run down my spine as I wondered who could be working against us.
