"Uncertainty Looms"
Part 3
Asher's grip on Kaito's arm tightened as he gazed up at him, his eyes pleading. "Don't go," he whispered, his voice barely audible. Kaito's expression softened, and he wrapped his arms around Asher, pulling him close. "I have to, Asher. I promise I'll be back soon, and I'll make sure you're safe." But Asher couldn't shake off the feeling of unease. He had always known that Kaito's work in the underworld came with risks, but now that he was faced with the reality of it, he felt helpless. He buried his face in Kaito's chest, inhaling the familiar scent of his cologne. Kaito stroked his hair, trying to calm him down. "Asher, I need to go. But I'll be back, and we'll face whatever comes next together." Asher pulled back, his eyes searching Kaito's face. He saw the determination and resolve there, but also a hint of something else - something that made his heart skip a beat. "What is it, Kaito? What's going on?" Kaito's expression turned guarded, and he hesitated before speaking. "It's just a business matter, Asher. Nothing to worry about." But Asher knew better. He had seen the look in Kaito's eyes before, a look that said he was in for more than just a simple business meeting. Asher's grip on Kaito's arm tightened again. "Please don't go," he whispered, his voice cracking. Kaito's face softened, and he gently pried Asher's fingers off his arm. "I have to, Asher. But I promise you, I'll do everything in my power to come back to you unharmed." Asher nodded, feeling a lump form in his throat. He knew he had to let Kaito go, but he couldn't help feeling a sense of desperation. He pulled Kaito into a fierce kiss, trying to memorize the feel of his lips, the taste of his mouth. Kaito deepened the kiss, his tongue tangling with Asher's as he wrapped his arms around him. For a moment, they forgot about the world outside, forgot about the dangers and uncertainties that lurked in the shadows. But as they finally broke apart for air, Asher knew that reality was still there, waiting for them. He gazed up at Kaito, his eyes brimming with tears. "I love you," he whispered. Kaito's face softened, and he smiled. "I love you too, Asher. More than anything." With one last look, Kaito turned and walked out of the penthouse apartment, leaving Asher feeling lost and uncertain. The door closed behind him, and Asher was left standing alone, his heart heavy with worry.
