Beyond the Boundaries of Sanity

Part 108

"W-what nononononono stop wait wdym by that?" I stuttered, my voice shaking as I took a step back, my eyes wide with fear. Tomura's grin only grew wider, and he chuckled, clearly enjoying my reaction. "Oh, don't be so dramatic, Vesper," he said, his voice dripping with amusement. "I simply mean that we're going to test your limits. See how far you can push yourself, and what you're capable of." I shook my head, trying to clear the fog of fear that was clouding my mind. "N-no, that's not what I mean," I stammered. "What do you plan to do to me? What kind of tests?" Tomura's eyes sparkled with excitement. "Oh, all sorts of things," he said, his voice low and husky. "We'll start with something simple, like seeing how much damage you can withstand before your body can't heal anymore. And then... well, we'll just have to see where it takes us." I felt a wave of panic wash over me as I glanced at Bakugo, who was struggling against his restraints, his eyes locked on mine with a desperate plea for me to stay calm. But I was beyond calm. I was on the brink of hysteria. "Dabi, Himiko, make sure she's secure," Tomura called out, his voice echoing through the room. Dabi and Himiko moved to restrain me, their grip like steel as they held me in place. I struggled against them, but they were too strong. "Tomura, stop this," I shouted, my voice hoarse with fear. "You can't do this to me. I won't let you." Tomura's grin never wavered. "Oh, but I can," he said, his voice cold and detached. "And I will. You see, Vesper, you have a gift. A gift that could change the world. And I'm going to make sure that you realize your full potential." I felt a scream building in my throat as Tomura raised his hand, and I knew that I was in grave danger. The room seemed to be spinning around me, and I felt like I was trapped in a nightmare from which I couldn't wake up. Bakugo's voice cut through the chaos, his words a desperate attempt to reach me. "Vesper, don't worry, I've got you! I won't let them hurt you!" But I knew that he was powerless to stop Tomura, and that thought sent a chill down my spine. I was on my own, and I had to find a way to escape before it was too late.
