Making Amends

Part 46

I took a deep breath and stepped out of the hideout, my heart racing with anticipation and nerves. I had decided to face Izuku and apologize for my actions, no matter how embarrassing it was. I scanned the surrounding area and spotted him sitting on a nearby rock, staring out at the cityscape. I made my way over to him, my legs feeling like jelly. As I approached, Izuku turned to face me, a hint of curiosity in his eyes. I bowed my head, feeling my cheeks heat up with embarrassment. "I'm so so sorry for what happened," I said, my voice barely above a whisper. "I don't know why I did it. I'm pretty sure that you thought it was weird. Again, I am so sorry!" Izuku's expression changed from curiosity to surprise, and he looked at me with a mixture of amusement and concern. "Hey, it's okay," he said, getting up from the rock and walking towards me. "I think we both got caught off guard, right?" I shook my head, still feeling embarrassed. "No, I'm the one who did something weird. You didn't do anything wrong." Izuku chuckled and placed a hand on my shoulder. "I think we're both okay. But if it makes you feel any better, I have to admit that I was a bit surprised." I looked up at him, feeling a sense of relief wash over me. Maybe apologizing wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. "Yeah, I guess I did catch you off guard," I said, smiling slightly. Izuku smiled back and removed his hand from my shoulder. "It's all good. Let's just forget about it, okay?" I nodded, feeling a sense of gratitude towards him. Maybe I had overreacted, and maybe Izuku wasn't as bothered by the kiss as I thought he was. Either way, I was glad that we were talking about it and clearing the air. As we stood there, I couldn't help but notice the way Izuku's eyes crinkled at the corners when he smiled. It was a small thing, but it made me feel a little flutter in my chest. I quickly pushed the feeling aside, reminding myself that I was still trying to figure out my emotions. "Thanks, Izuku," I said, smiling at him. "I really appreciate it." Izuku smiled back and nodded. "No problem. Let's just move on, okay?" I nodded, feeling a sense of relief wash over me. Maybe this was the start of something new, something where Izuku and I could be honest with each other about our feelings. Only time would tell.
