**Chapter 7: The Unsettling Truth**
Part 7
The voice's words still echoed in my mind as I clashed with the Shadow Girl's tendrils. Deku and I were holding our own, but I could sense that we were tiring. Dabi, on the other hand, seemed to be enjoying himself immensely. He was toying with us, playing a game of cat and mouse. As I dodged the Shadow Girl's attack, I caught Dabi's gaze. He was looking at me, a mixture of amusement and curiosity on his face. "Are you really that dumb?" he said, his voice dripping with sarcasm. He took a step closer to me, his eyes glinting with mirth. "Your Vesper, how did you all, including her, forget her name?" He started laughing, and my blood immediately ran cold. There was something unsettling about his tone, something that made my skin crawl. I felt a chill run down my spine as I realized that Vesper might be more than just a random girl Dabi was looking for. I took a step back, my mind reeling. "You want me AND Bakugo?!" I exclaimed, my voice shaking slightly. Dabi's smile grew wider as he looked at me. "Yes," he said, his voice low and husky. "I do." I felt like I'd been punched in the gut. Me? Dabi wanted me? I thought back to all the times we'd clashed, all the times I'd seen him smile or laugh. It was always at someone else's expense, always at the expense of his enemies. But now, he was looking at me like I was something desirable. Katsuki, sensing my distress, moved closer to me. "What do you want with her?" he growled, his Explosion Quirk simmering just below the surface. Dabi's gaze flicked to Katsuki, and he smiled. "Oh, I think you know exactly what I want. I want to see what happens when you two are together. I want to see what kind of power you can unleash." I exchanged a terrified glance with Deku. This was getting out of hand. Dabi's obsession with Katsuki and me was starting to freak me out. And then, I remembered the voice's words: "You're not fighting the right enemy." Who was the real enemy here? Was it Dabi, or was it someone else entirely? The Shadow Girl took advantage of my distraction and lunged at me, her tendrils snaking around my waist. I struggled to break free, but she was too strong. Deku and Katsuki rushed to my aid, but Dabi just laughed, enjoying the chaos he had unleashed.
