"Betrayal and Fury"
Part 65
As I stood there, frozen in fear, Dabi's eyes locked onto Tomura's, and I could see the anger and confusion burning within them. But then, something seemed to click into place, and Dabi's expression changed. His eyes narrowed, and his face twisted in a snarl. "You," Dabi spat, his voice low and menacing. "You did this to me. You brought me here." Tomura chuckled, his grin growing wider. "Ah, Dabi, my dear friend. I didn't bring you here. You were already a part of us. You just needed a little...reminder." Dabi's eyes flashed with rage, and he took a step forward, his fists clenched. "You used me. You used my own powers against me. And you almost made me...almost made me become a hero." The words cut deep, and I felt a pang of guilt. I had been so focused on trying to understand what was happening that I hadn't considered the impact my actions might have on Dabi. But as I looked at him now, I saw the hurt and anger in his eyes, and I knew that I had to make things right. But before I could say anything, Dabi's gaze turned to me, and I felt a chill run down my spine. "You," he growled, his voice dripping with venom. "You almost made me forget who I am. You almost made me forget what I believe in." I took a step back, feeling a sense of unease. I knew that I had to tread carefully here. Dabi's emotions were raw, and I didn't want to push him further over the edge. But Dabi wasn't finished. He took a step closer to me, his eyes blazing with fury. "You think you can just waltz in here and change me? You think you can just fix me? You're no better than Tomura. You're no better than any of them." The words cut deep, and I felt a surge of anger. But as I looked at Dabi, I saw the pain and hurt behind his eyes, and I knew that I had to listen. I had to understand what he was going through. "I'm sorry, Dabi," I said, trying to keep my voice calm. "I didn't mean to hurt you. I didn't mean to make you feel like you were going to lose yourself." Dabi's expression didn't change, but I saw a flicker of emotion in his eyes. It was a spark of hope, maybe, or a glimmer of uncertainty. And in that moment, I knew that I had to try to reach out to him, to try to bring him back from the edge. But as I took a step forward, Tomura's voice cut through the air, his tone dripping with malice. "I think it's time we gave Dabi a little reminder of his place," he said, his eyes glinting with amusement. "A little reminder of what it means to be a part of the League of Villains." And with that, the air seemed to grow darker, the shadows deepening and twisting around us. I felt a sense of foreboding, a sense that things were about to take a turn for the worse. And as I looked at Dabi, I knew that I had to act fast, or risk losing him forever.
