**Chapter 1: The Night That Changed Everything**

Part 1

As I stepped onto the campus of Oakwood University, I couldn't help but feel a mix of emotions. Excitement for the new chapter of my life, nervousness about making friends, and a hint of uncertainty about my decision to leave my small town behind. I was 17, and most of my friends back home were still in high school, while I was already navigating the complexities of college life. My name is Mia, and I was determined to make the most of this opportunity. I had worked hard to get into Oakwood, and I was eager to prove to myself and my family that I was capable of succeeding on my own. As I made my way to my dorm room, I couldn't help but notice the older man standing by the student union building. He was tall, with a rugged charm that caught my attention. I had seen him around campus before, but I had never really paid much attention to him. It wasn't until I stumbled into his office for a meeting about my course schedule that I realized who he was. Professor Cooper, or Coop as he was known to his students, was a renowned expert in his field, and I was his new teaching assistant. He was also, I soon discovered, my dad's age. As we chatted about my role in the class, I couldn't help but feel a little uncomfortable. There was something about Coop that made me feel like I was under a microscope. His piercing gaze seemed to see right through me, and I found myself fidgeting under his attention. But despite my initial reservations, I found myself looking forward to our meetings. Coop was charismatic, and his passion for his subject was infectious. We would talk for hours about everything from literature to life, and I found myself feeling seen and heard in a way that I never had before. It wasn't until the night of the campus welcome party that things took a turn. Coop had offered to drive me home, and as we walked back to his car, the air was electric with tension. I was tipsy, and he was being his usual charming self. Before I knew it, we were kissing, and I was letting him lead me back to his place. The next morning, I woke up with a pounding headache and a sense of regret. What had I done? Coop was my professor, and he was old enough to be my father. I quickly got dressed and made my way back to my dorm, determined to put the night behind me. But as I looked at my phone, I saw a text from Coop. "Hey, beautiful. Can't stop thinking about you. When can I see you again?" My heart sank. I knew I had to set boundaries, but a part of me couldn't help but feel drawn to him. As I navigated the complexities of my emotions, I couldn't shake off the feeling that Coop was different. He was possessive, and his messages only reinforced that feeling. I tried to brush it off as a side effect of his charm, but a part of me wondered if there was more to it. Little did I know, that night would change everything. Coop's intentions were far from pure, and I was about to find myself in a situation that would alter the course of my life forever.
