A Hero's True Face
Part 51
You're six the first time you see a big shot in action. You would be thrilled if it wasn't Endeavor. Your parents, who're still convinced you're a hero fangirl (technically you are, although it's a bit more complicated than that), immediately drag you through the crowd and elbow without mercy anyone who steps in their way. They're probably hoping for you to show some childish excitement, like any other kid in your situation, but you're not an actual kid and Endeavor isn't your favorite hero. You give no fucks about his redemption arc. There's no redemption for abusing your wife and kids. What sort of twisted message was the anime trying to send? "Hey kids, if your dad beats you and your mommy up he still deserves forgiveness", no, he doesn't. You can still accept Katsuki's redemption because he's fifteen and has lots of time to mature, but Endeavor is a fully grown man and should have known better: he can't just wake up from his assholness at fifty. You respect his strength as a hero, it's really badass and inspiring, but it doesn't make him any less of a dick. As if proving you right, Endeavor has just pushed a kid asking for an autograph with the harsh words of: "Move. You're in the way." Figures, you gnash your teeth, Can't even bother to show the most basic human decency. And to a child no less! The poor kid looks crushed. His warm brown eyes are wide in disbelief as if he just saw a ghost, drops of sweat rolling down his tanned cheeks.
