**Sweet Surprises**

Part 10

As Rafael led me to the camera equipment set up in the living room, I couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement and curiosity. He had mentioned that we were going to film something for his channel, but I still had no idea what it was. The equipment was already set up, and Rafael began to adjust the lights and check the sound. "Okay, so what are we filming?" I asked again, trying to contain my anticipation. Rafael grinned mischievously. "We're going to try some sweets from Japan," he said, holding up a box of colorful treats. "I've got a bunch of different candies and desserts that I've been wanting to try, and I thought it would be fun to share them with my audience." I laughed, intrigued. "That sounds like a great idea," I said, my eyes widening as I looked at the box. "I've always been fascinated by Japanese sweets." Rafael nodded, his eyes sparkling with enthusiasm. "Me too! I've got a bunch of different things here, from traditional mochi to some weird and wacky candies." He began to arrange the sweets on the coffee table in front of us, and I couldn't help but giggle at the assortment of colors and shapes. There were bright pink and blue candies, weird-looking creatures made of sugar, and even some things that looked like they belonged in a sci-fi movie. "Okay, so let's get started," Rafael said, picking up a small, fluffy-looking candy. "This one is called a 'Pocky' stick. It's a classic Japanese snack." He unwrapped the candy and held it out to me. I took a hesitant bite, and my eyes widened in surprise. The candy was sweet and crunchy, with a weirdly addictive flavor. "Mmm, that's good!" I exclaimed. Rafael grinned, pleased. "Right? Okay, now it's my turn." He took a bite of the Pocky stick, and we both sat there for a moment, savoring the flavor. As we continued to try the different sweets, Rafael's commentary and reactions had me laughing out loud. He was so animated and enthusiastic, and his love for the sweets was infectious. At one point, he picked up a weird-looking candy that looked like a cross between a gummy bear and a piece of seaweed. "This one is called a 'Umeboshi'," he said, wrinkling his nose. "It's supposed to be sour and salty." I hesitated, but Rafael just laughed and popped the candy into his mouth. His face contorted in surprise, and then he started to laugh. "Wow, that's... quite a flavor," he said, still chuckling. I couldn't help but giggle, and then I decided to try the Umeboshi too. It was definitely an acquired taste, but I was surprised by how much I enjoyed it. As we finished up the filming, Rafael grinned at me, satisfied. "That was a lot of fun," he said. "Thanks for being my guinea pig tonight." I smiled, feeling happy and content. "Anytime," I said, snuggling into his side. "As long as I get to try all the weird and wonderful sweets." Rafael laughed, wrapping his arm around me. "Deal," he said, pulling me close. "Now, shall we get you home?"
