The Truth Revealed
Part 3
Link's eyes remained fixed on Mipha's, his expression solemn as he waited for her reaction. The air was heavy with tension, and the silence seemed to stretch on forever. Mipha's face was a picture of confusion and concern, her eyes searching his for any sign of deception. "I...I don't understand," she stammered, her voice barely above a whisper. "You're telling me that you're from a different time, a different world? That you're not just a hero from Hyrule?" Link nodded, his voice steady. "Yes, Mipha. I'm from a future timeline, one where...where everything has changed. The Calamity, it...it's already happened. And I've come back to prevent it." Mipha's eyes narrowed, her expression skeptical. "The Calamity? You mean the one that's coming? I've heard the whispers, Link. Everyone has. But I never thought...I never thought it was real." Link's expression turned grim. "It's real, Mipha. And I've seen it firsthand. In my time...in my world, the champions, including myself and your friend, Urbosa, we...we died. I'm the only one left, and I've been sent back to prevent the Calamity from happening." Mipha's face paled, her eyes widening in shock. "What do you mean?" she asked, her voice trembling. "What happened to the champions?" Link took a deep breath, the memories of his past flooding back. "The Divine Beasts were corrupted, and they turned against us. We were defeated, and...and I was the only one left. I was asleep for 100 years, and when I woke up, I was sent back in time to prevent the Calamity. I was tasked with finding the champions and helping them prepare for the battle ahead." Mipha's eyes were filled with a mix of emotions: shock, fear, and confusion. "But...but what about Terriko?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper. Link's expression softened, and he reached out to take Mipha's hand. "I'm from the same time as him, Mipha. I know him. I've seen his fate, and it's...it's not good. But I have to try and change it. For Hyrule's sake, and for his." Mipha's eyes locked onto his, her gaze searching for any sign of deception. But Link's expression was resolute, his eyes filled with a determination that made her believe him. "Tell me more," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. Link nodded, his mind racing with the memories of his past. "In my world...in my time, the Calamity happened. The champions died, and the land was ravaged. But I remember the Zora's armor, Mipha. I remember seeing it in the ancient texts, and I know it's the key to stopping the Calamity." Mipha's eyes widened in surprise. "The Zora's armor? You mean, the one I'm wearing?" Link nodded, his eyes locked onto hers. "Yes, Mipha. The very same one. I know it's hard to believe, but...but I'm telling you the truth. I've seen it all, and I know what's at stake." The silence that followed was oppressive, with Mipha's mind reeling with the implications of Link's words. But as she looked into his eyes, she saw the truth there, the determination and the conviction. And she knew that she had to trust him, no matter how impossible it seemed.
