"Behind the Spotlight"

Part 1

The bright lights of the film set cast a warm glow on the bustling crew, as they scrambled to capture the perfect shot. Helen Le, a Vietnamese-American production assistant, was no stranger to the chaos that came with working in the film industry. With her dark hair tied back in a neat ponytail, she moved with a quiet confidence, her eyes scanning the set as she checked off tasks on her clipboard. Among the sea of familiar faces, one stood out – Lewis Pullman, the rising star of Hollywood. With his chiseled features and piercing blue eyes, he was the epitome of a leading man. Helen had worked on several films before, but never had she been so close to someone of his caliber. As she watched him rehearse a scene, she couldn't help but feel a flutter in her chest. It was a sensation she had grown accustomed to, but one she had tried to ignore. At first, Helen had been indifferent to Lewis's charm. She had worked with enough actors to know that they often had a type – glamorous, outgoing, and attention-seeking. And she didn't fit the bill. But as she watched him work, she began to see a different side of him. A side that was kind, humble, and genuinely passionate about his craft. It was disarming, to say the least. As the day wore on, Helen found herself stealing glances at Lewis, who was in the midst of a heated discussion with the director. She couldn't help but notice the way his eyes sparkled when he spoke, or the way his hair curled slightly at the nape of his neck. It was a feeling she couldn't quite explain, one that left her feeling both exhilarated and terrified. Meanwhile, Lewis was oblivious to Helen's admiring gaze. He was too busy trying to navigate the complexities of his character, and the added pressure of impressing the film's producers. But he had noticed Helen – her quiet efficiency, her sharp wit, and her striking features. He found her cute, but also intriguing, in that she seemed completely unimpressed by him. Unlike everyone else on set, who fawned over him like he was a rockstar. As he wrapped up his discussion with the director, Lewis's eyes wandered to Helen, who was busy coordinating with the catering team. He smiled to himself, wondering what it was about her that seemed so... different. Little did he know, Helen had been watching him for hours, her heart beating just a little bit faster with every passing minute. As the day drew to a close, Lewis made his way to his trailer, his mind still reeling with the day's shoot. He was looking forward to unwinding with a drink, and perhaps a phone call to his friend, Kaia – the Nepo baby actress he had been trying to get to notice him for months. But as he caught a glimpse of Helen packing up her things, he couldn't shake the feeling that there was someone else on set, someone who was watching him with an intensity he couldn't quite understand.
