**Adjusting to Reality**
Part 2
Emma walked into Gary's room with a warm smile, but her expression quickly turned serious as she approached his bed. "Gary, I wanted to follow up on our conversation yesterday about your...accidents," she said gently. Gary's face flushed with embarrassment as he looked down, remembering the humiliation of the past two nights. He had been dreading this moment, hoping that somehow, someway, he could avoid dealing with the consequences of his bedwetting. Emma pulled out a pack of teen pull-ups from behind her back and placed them on the bedside table. "I'm afraid it's become necessary for you to wear these every night you're here," she explained, her voice soft but firm. Gary's eyes widened in horror as he stared at the pack of pull-ups. He felt like he was being treated like a toddler, not a 16-year-old. "Do I have to?" he asked, trying to negotiate. Emma nodded sympathetically. "I'm afraid so, Gary. We want to make sure you're comfortable and confident while you're here. Wearing these will help prevent any further accidents and give you peace of mind." Gary felt a surge of anger and frustration. This was not what he had signed up for when he was brought to this hospital. He was supposed to get help, not be treated like a baby. But as he looked at Emma's kind face, he knew he had no choice. "Okay," he muttered, feeling defeated. Emma nodded and began to explain the instructions for using the pull-ups. Gary listened half-heartedly, his mind wandering to all the ways this was going to make his life even more miserable. He couldn't believe this was happening to him. As Emma finished her explanation and prepared to leave, Gary spoke up, his voice barely above a whisper. "Will...will my parents find out?" Emma's expression turned gentle. "We'll discuss it with them, Gary. But for now, let's focus on getting you settled in and comfortable. You're not alone here, and we're all here to support you." Gary nodded, feeling a mix of emotions. He was grateful for Emma's kindness, but he couldn't shake the feeling that his life was spiraling out of control. As Emma left the room, Gary couldn't help but wonder what the future held for him.
